Hello Steemians, welcome to my post. I am excited to participate in this challenge which I have talked about "Power of communication skill"
Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?
Yes, I agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power". Communication is very important in our lives and without communication, we wouldn't be able to express our feelings towards one another. It is a vital tool that enhances the growth of a nation or an organization
Communication allows people to share their opinions, and ideas and contribute to the growth of the society they belong to, and without communication, I wouldn't be able to know the ideas of my colleagues. Communication brings us together based on the types of information that is communicated to us. This and many more reasons that we cannot look out for right now are the reasons why I agree with the statement.
Can you provide an example of a situation where "Communication skill is the power"?
This is a true life story of mine as a student. Being in the university there are so many communications that are being passed across ranging from the school management down to departments and within students.
Communication skill is power in all places of life in school it Is used to pass vital information across to students and staff. Like for example before a school goes on vacation (break) it must be communicated to the students and staff first so everyone would get to know the closure and resumption date.
It is also powerful as it unites us together. Like for example, a school vice chancellor says he or he wants to address the students by sending a circular across the whole department upon receiving the circular head of the department will inform the student of the exact date and venue which at the venue you will see the student from different departments making relationships among themselves.
Some historical examples where "Communication skill is the power" led to significant change?
Early this year my school went on serious protests for two good days because of the increase of school fees by the school management which was announced by the vice chancellor herself. Immediately students heard of the news they went on protests the following day and started blocking roads. Such type of communication brought negative change at the beginning and ended up bringing a significant positive change.
After the massive protests that were staged for 2 days which was the only way that the students could communicate with the school management, the hardships they were facing made the school management withdraw the increment of school fees they introduced earlier.
How can one improve their communication skills?
Communication skills can be improved in so many ways such as:
Consistency in practicing how to communicate with others.
Reading books that can help you improve your communication skills.
Joining a society or club that can help you to express yourself.
Meditating on what you have learned.
