I miss my childhood days so much, not because I'm not happy 😊 or comfortable with my present level in life, but because childhood was more of fun and freedom. I could remember how we play around neighborhood with friends. It was indeed memorable, and I wish those days can come back, but life does not permit that. Below I share with you some of the games I played as a child.

THE RUBBER BAND GAMES

As a kid, the rubber band game was one of the most interesting games I played with my friends. The game is simple but it requires timing. If you aren't good at timing or shooting, you will always be on the losing side.

How the game is played

The game required two or more players. Each player is required to put the rubber in his or her hand, after which a line will be drawn so that all the players will stand on it. After standing in line, each player is expected to shoot from a certain distance to a particular point. Remember, all the players shoot in the same direction. After shooting, if your rubber crosses the rubber of another player as seen above, you are declared the winner, and you pack all the rubber bands.

HIDE AND SEEK

The hide-and-seek game was one of the popular games among children during my childhood. I count it as one of my favorite games because of the fun in it. It united us as kids then. I still miss the game but I can't imagine finding myself playing it. It is a game that can be played either at home or outside, but not in an open field that has no trees or buildings.

How the game is played

The game is played between two or more players. But it's more enjoyable when the players are much in number. In playing the game, one person is selected and he or she would be blindfolded with a handkerchief. After the blindfolding, he or she will be made to count from 1 to 30. As the counting is going on, all the other players would go into hiding. Immediately he or she is done counting, he or she removes the blindfold and goes into searching for other players. As soon as he or she finds a player who hides, that person would be made into search while he or she goes into hiding as well.

Another game I enjoyed as a child was the tyre ride game. As of that time, we refer to the tire as our car or motorcycle. You would hardly see a child without a tyre at home. Because of how much we valued tyres, our parents don't trash their old tyres after changing them because it has always been one of the things they used to motivate and encourage us to go on an errand and return on time.

Whenever we want to compete with other kids, we would draw a line and also set a point far away from the line where all the players would stand to ride the tyre to the set point. After every player might have stood in line, we would count from 3 to 0 before we start riding our tyre at high speed to the set point. Whoever arrived first is considered the best rider.
