Perhaps if man had not invented fire, what would this earth have looked like?
Oh, I can tell you what this world would have looked like instead.
Just close your eyes and allow your vivid imagination to do the work. Now picture a world without campfires, a world where you probably had to rely on energy from the sun if you needed any form of heat for your meals, you probably would just rinse your meat and gobble it straight down. What would you use to cook em lol.
In a more realistic sense, everyone would probably be vegetarian. We'd all eat fruits, vegetables, and a lot of broccoli every day (yeah, doesn't sound so tasty)

There would not be campfires, no marshmallow roasting gatherings where we tell ourselves our deepest secrets and try to spook ourselves.
But on the other hand
You would very much agree with me that the world would be a much safer place if man hadn't harnessed the energy from fire. No guns, no bombs, no grenades, no planetary devastation.
Countries wouldn't bully other countries by trying to flex their nuclear weapons or missile stash and there would be no threats to humanity or a lesser threat because you should agree with me the biggest threat to humanity right now is the possibility of another world war between power countries coming to play. That would signal the apocalypse, the end of days if those nuclear weapons ever got to have contact with the Earth.
How do you think man discovered fire?
There are really lots of theories that give answers to this particular question. However, I would just go with the one that seems to make the most sense. I mean, man wasn't always born smart. We probably had our rough days, days of ignorance. Days of the early men who wandered places and searched the earth for their answers.
So yes, you guessed it right.
It's that story. It probably started by some unsuspecting individual running two sticks together, striking a stone or so. I bet he became the president of his group real quick for that discovery. How we would have felt like Einstein at that moment.
There are many other theories, but this is the one I choose to believe began it all.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of fire?.
As much as the word 'fire' when spoken often leads to destruction and disadvantages resonating in our minds. Fire really has a lot of advantages and has really made humanity easier to an extent.
Just like the "imagine the world without fire" situation. We wouldn't get to be able to witness the revolution of raw meat to mouth-watering feasts, stakes, barbecues, and the like. (yeah I'm a foodie so ill start with food)

We wouldn't also have warmth. Imagine how many humans would've died in the early days due to cold nights. I really believe fire revolutionized humanity and made us develop into such an intelligent specie and if this still hadn't been discovered, there is a very high chance we would not be half as advanced as we are now.
On the other hand, the disadvantages fire has brought are uhm.... pretty devastating.
Wildlife has been razed down countless times. It has led to the loss of lives and properties. In fact, the biggest blow to humanity could be attributed to fire and fire-related events. Look at world wars, nuclear destructions, and missiles which are a result of fire being harnessed into a device.
With the advent of fire, man has somehow since sought ways to destroy the earth. It's no surprise the bible hinted the next destruction of the earth will be through fire. If you take a look at events happening around the world now, boy! we are pretty close to that already.

Is fire essential for us or not?
From the little pointed out above out of the numerous advantages fire has brought us. It is no debate that fire is indeed essential for humanity. You can see it as that friend you just cannot live without. From allowing us to protect ourselves from harsh climates, wild beasts, and evil people also as well as paving the way for technological developments to take place to which you are enjoying the benefit of from that screen you're reading this publication.
It all began with fire and thus I believe it is essential for the continued survival of humanity.
How should we handle fire for a safe environment?
The biggest threat to humanity isn't fire. The biggest threat to humanity is humanity itself.
Fire is just a tool in our hands and as for the million-dollar question, it is therefore important to exercise a feeling of responsibility when dealing with fire. In order to allow for a safe environment, it is important to always keep a safe distance from items that are combustible and to store them appropriately also. Ensure the fire is well extinguished after any activity that involves using fire i.e. cooking, burning of materials, etc, and never undermine the temperamental side of fire. If left unchecked, it can do as much damage as it wants.
I have gotten to witness a bad incident where fire razed down the building right beside where I once lived and that day I experienced the true horror of fire.
To this day, a simple spark is enough to send me into a state of panic.
