Welcome to the last week on "Steemit Engagement Challenge Season19 Week 6,
Entitled; "How are social medias affecting our society in both good and bad ways? ". Please follow through my opinion on the above theme.

What are the benefits of social media to our society?

I am benefiting greatly from social media Family. Social Media create an avenue for change in human life, in terms of letting us know what is happening around us and globally at large.Below here are some of the significant impact created by social media in our society.

It facilitate proper communication: In this 21 century, social Media is a powerful tool used in communicating with our family members, friend, colleague around us and other friends in outside country. We can communicate with group of people at same time and also communicate to an organisation as a whole.

Social Media create business and economic opportunities. It is very easy to meet different entrepreneur carry out sales online, marketing and monitoring our business growth. In most cases, we usually stay in the comfort of my home run businesses, communicate with my customer using my mobile devices. It makes life easier and aesthetic.

The only medium that we can look for and join communities or share our concern, hobbies and goals with people is through different social media online platforms.

Social Media help in creating awareness on important issue in the society and information circulation.

What are the evils caused by social media in our society?

As we see in life, several things that has advantages also have it disadvantages which social media is not exclusive, meaning--- with it good benefits there are some bad effect of social media in our society.

The most common one that affects thousands of people globally is becoming addicted to social media. Imagine, any time I have interaction with some friends around me about social media, I always find out that they are addicted to it, therefore leads decrease in productivity and increase in negativity when it comes to face to face interaction.

Social Media is a great avenue for fake news and misconceptions and always goes viral because it can be share with thousands of people in a second through resulting in suffering of innocent individuals.

Social Media has affected a lot of youth mental health. Thousands of people had become depressed, lonely with anxieties because of what they hear about others in social media.

Example; A friend of mine left her marriage because of what she watch online about a content curator who pretends to be a caring husband but after few months the wife exposed the husband. That is when she realised that not all information on social media are true. This was because of decreased self-esteem.

Social Media create room for comparison, harassment, bullying and unrealistic standard of living.

Is social media useful for common people or corporate companies?

Yes ooo 100%. Social Media is both useful for common people and corporate companies because this two set of people uses social media as means of advertisements and communications.

Common people uses social media in circulating or disseminating informations to friend, loved once, learn new skills and show cases their creativities. Common people are updated by means of social media whereas corporate companies use social media in creating awareness about thier products, the can easily interact with their customers and quickly get feedback as well. Through social media, corporate companies can carry out recruitment of staffs, builds and manage their reputations.

In my opinion, I say that social media is a bittersweet application that has a lot of positive effects in our lives that surpass it negative effect in life.

It depends on how we use it, if we handle it with care, it will definitely bring out good results but if misused, it brings negative outcomes.

The highest advantage of social Media is to connect with friends, communicate with them and access important online's info. The disadvantages is addiction, feeding our mine with fake News, harassment and comparisons.

Instead of us going off from social media or isolating ourself from it, we should endeavours to set boundaries while using it and welcome only beneficial opportunities.
