Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?

Communication to me can also be seen as power because of the following reasons :

1. Communication can be see as power because it helps to improve our social life, it is a means by which we can strength our relationship with others. If you have been 🐝 observant in life you will notice that before any thing is done there most be Communication.

2. Communication creates a stronger relationship between you and others and also your loved ones. And can help in strengthening relationships.

3. Communication is also a way by which we humans can express ourselves and gain a positive reputation in the society.

4. Through communication we can gain positive advice from others in other to make positive decisions in life.

5. Through the help of communicating with others we can solve and find solutions to our problems. While interacting with others we can share ideas and gain absolute solution to the problems.

6. In our daily routine, communication can be seen as power because it helps us to control our anger while interacting with people who are naturally slow to anger.

7. Communication skill can also be seen as power because of its ability of changing our choice of decisions, happy or sad mood and also our way of thinking due to the constant communication with other individuals.

8. Constant and stronger communication skills can build and restructure an organization positively and will enhance it to move forward.

Can you provide an example of situation where "Communication skill is the power"

Here is a situation where communication skills can serve as power positively.

Let's take for instance you are working in a company that produces drugs and your boss decided to promote you due to the good and pleasant rumors her has been hearing about you this is also a great sign or reason that communication skills is power.

And also in the company, they came a report for a wholesaler that a particular drugs is having a side effects on the consumers and the news got to your hearing first because you were the second in command in the company due to the promotion given to you by your boss and your boss was out of the country and you immediately contacted him about the news and you told him.

Due to your communication with him he gave an order and also advise you on what to do. You then applied his advice and the drugs side effects stop. After two months the wholesaler called you and told you that they has been a positive change in the drugs and that the side effects where no more.

Another situation that shows that communication is power

Here is a situation where communication skills is also seen as power. You are a man who loves football as a sport and also very good at it and you had a dream of going out of the country in other to practice and train with professional footballers around the world in other to get signed into a club but you don't know how to book a flight through an agency.

The first time you tried doing it your self you got tricked and you lost the interest of living the country for greener pastures. A certain day you where chatting at the park with others who loved to play football as will and there also talked about living the country in other to continue their football dreams and you asked them how to get a genuine agency that will help you travel out of the country and one of the them called an agency which you later followed and booked your flight and left the country.

Through your communication skill you have gained a positive advice which has helped you to book a flight successfully and travel out of the country. I will end this by saying that communication is indeed power to change life positively.

Some historical examples where "Communication skill is the power" led to significant change?

During the late 2000 to 2007 the president of Nigeria His Excellency president "Olushegun Obasanjo", lead to the importation of mobile phones which is also known as GSM which means "global system for mobile communication." As the smartphones where allowed to enter the country, it lead to the free and faster communication at the Nigerians finger tips. The transportation of goods and services in the country became more faster, genuine and safe. When the mobile phones came it made communication between family members more easier instead of using letters.

How can one improve their communication skills ?

Here are the various ways by which someone can improve his or her communication skills :

1. While communicating we are expected to listen and listen clear for proper and effective communication skills.

2. We should try as much as possible to express ourselves through what we say and also by body language.

3. When ever you are communicating with others you are expected to be brief and straight to the point which you are talking about for effective communication skills.

4. Always be prepared to get either a positive or negative response while conversing. It will help build your mind set towards any response you get.

5. While communicating you need to make sure that you understood all that has been said by you and who you where conversing with.

6. Make sure that you and the person talking has agreed to what you have already discussed to ensure a complete communication.

7. You are also advise to take your time and think before you speak in other to avoid the misuse of words and speaking out of point.

8. Learn to accept the person's point of view for better understanding during the communication process.
