Everyone on this platform has their reasons for joining steemit and these reasons may likely be the things people like most on steemit. Personally when I joined steemit, I came to love certain things which has distinctive features other platform don't have. Throughout my online life, I've never seen a platform that's technically built in such a way that people are paid for their knowledge. Below are the things I like most in steemit andmy reasons for liking them.

• Financial incentives and curating Contents: As a social media platform that's Blockchain based, users like me on the platform can earn steem tokens which can be invested or saved in form of steem power or sold for cash.

These cryptocurrency we earn is for creating high-quality contents and curating these contents which serves as a form of financial incentive for users on the platform. You're paid in crypto for sharing your knowledge. What an marvelous platform!

• It's decentralized: This is what I really like on this platform which makes me rate its authenticity and legitimacy as it's not controlled by any central authority or user which can be taken off or dismissed anytime. It being a decentralized Blockchain makes a whole lot of sense and should be a backbone to those who still doubt the platform.

• On steemit, you have control over your money. You don't need to reach a particular amount before considering withdrawal.

• It's easy to use and navigate: This feature of steemit makes it an outstanding social media platform. It has various features which make users carry out activities on the platform with ease.

• It's free: I've been wondering how a social media platform that's paying heavily for creating contents is free and very much opened to the public.This feature of steemit makes me value and cherish the platform more than any other. You don't even need to have a million followers to earn.

You just follow the rules, share your knowledge, engage and earn

I'll use the popular social media platform, Facebook and other ponzi scheme platforms in illustrating this.....

• On Facebook, you aren't paid until you attain a particular number of followers and monetize your account before Facebook starts paying you
  whereas on steemit, you don't need a million followers to start earning or being paid in steem tokens. Any user who makes quality post on the platform is voted and paid. That's what makes steemit different from Facebook

• On Facebook, you're getting likes and comments when you post but on steemit, you're getting steemit dollars and comments. Steemit gives consideration to people's post asides liking it.

• Facebook can be hacked easily but I've never heard of hacked on steemit because the encryption on steemit is very strong and secured.

• While ponzi scheme platforms require you pay money to join the platform and then reach a particular amount of money before you can withdraw, steemit is free and it has no withdrawal threshold.

• While Facebook is a social media platform, steemit is a social media platform that's Blockchain based.

I've been on this platform for nearly 2 years and I've also signed up people who'll also benefit from this platform the way I do. On a daily basis, I spend 3 hours min. and maximum of 7 hours on steemit except I'm working as a moderator that day.

The features I've noticed that aren't available is the search button and communities that posts or deliberate on a particular theme. This search tool have been useful to a lot of users who search for posts, users, tags and the likes of them. If there could be more communuity for different topics, it would be very much advantageous and people will obtain knowledge easily.

Steemit is undoubtedly unpopular. Its innovation in various features and promotion would surely increase awareness of this platform and make it different entirely from other social media platforms, thereby attracting investors and users.
