Contest : Celebration of Infection Prevention week for community awareness
Infection means the attack of any organism on any object or person. The infection may be casually acquired or hospital acquired. The infection that occurs outside the hospital is community acquired and the infection that occurs after 2 days of being admitted to the hospital is hospital acquired infection. Such as catheter associated blood stream infection, central line associated blood stream infection, ventilator associated blood stream infection and surgical site infection. Infections like pneumonia, influenza, cholera or viral fever can be community acquired.
No, it has not happened till now that I have had any kind of infection. I wash my hands regularly, use personal protective equipment like cap, mask, gown and face shield, hence I am infection free till now. If I get an infection in the future and I feel there is a change in my health, then I will definitely consult an expert doctor without wasting any time and start medication as soon as possible. Mostly I focus on prevention because prevention is better than cure.
Of course, hand hygiene should be done to prevent infection. Apart from hand hygiene, isolation practices, maintaining 6 feet distance, using mask or face shield and getting vaccination is very important. At the same time, it is very important to avoid eating outside and sharing products, clothes or taking precautions during relationships.
The most important thing is to make our community aware. I had trained the doctors, nursing staff and front desk staff in my hospital so that they could make the community aware. We celebrated Infection Prevention Week like a festival by playing games like poster competition and quiz competition so that we could share its message in the community. So in this way we can prevent infection by making the community aware.
