The Diary Game [16th May 2024]: Visiting the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Unsyiah

Today I will accompany my friend, Pia, to take her cat for a checkup at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Unsyiah. Pia just arrived from Samar Kilang, Bener Meriah, at 4 o'clock this morning. It so happens that Pia will be working there for the next two years. However, in the past few days, Pia has received news that her cat is sick. So, Pia decided to go home to Banda Aceh to check on her cat's health.

At 10 o'clock in the morning, I immediately got ready to accompany Pia. In addition to accompanying her, Pia asked me to hold the cat carrier. At exactly 11 o'clock in the morning, we set off for the location using a motorcycle. The distance we covered was approximately 30 minutes at standard speed. Although I had difficulty holding her cat carrier, I did my best to keep the handle stable.

Alhamdulillah, we arrived at the location safely. Initially, we were completely relieved, before finally realizing that we had arrived at the wrong location. The hospital had moved.

We asked a student for the new location of the veterinary hospital. Fortunately, the new location was not too far from the old one. Upon arriving at the veterinary hospital in the new location, we immediately parked our motorcycle. We both entered the veterinary hospital building.

As a cat owner, Pia explained the purpose and a brief chronology of her cat's condition to the receptionist at the veterinary hospital. Unfortunately, since it was lunchtime, the doctors were taking a break. So, we had to leave her cat there so that it could be treated at 2 pm later. So, we had to buy snacks for the cat first so that it wouldn't get hungry. Fortunately, there was a pet supply store not far from the veterinary hospital.

Pia only bought one pack of milk and wet food specifically for kittens. For your information, Pia's cat is still a kitten, only one and a half months old. That's why Pia was very worried when her cat's health deteriorated drastically. After buying the cat supplies, we rushed back to the veterinary hospital.

While waiting for the doctor, Pia invited me to eat at a simple cafe that serves Japanese-style food. The location was also not far from the veterinary hospital, which was still within the campus area. We only ordered simple food to fill our stomachs, not forgetting the sweet iced tea that tasted a bit astringent.

During my college years, my friends and I used to eat here quite often. The atmosphere is still the same as before, serene and comfortable. The lush and cool surroundings make visitors feel at ease and linger at the cafe. Today, we chose a seat under a shady tree. Although the leaves were falling, it didn't diminish the comfort at all.

After enjoying our simple meal, we headed back to the veterinary hospital. Beforehand, we stopped by to buy our favorite drink, cappuccino with cincau jelly.

We waited, occasionally sipping our drinks. As many people say, waiting is the most boring thing. We felt like time was moving so slowly. Finally, the doctor arrived, and Pia's cat's health check was complete. Pia's cat had scabies, but it couldn't be injected because it was underweight. So, the doctor only gave ointment and medication to be taken orally.

We rushed home as it was already 3 pm. Upon arriving home, I decided to rest considering my still not fully healthy condition. It has been almost a week that I have been experiencing fluctuating fevers, and it seems that the erratic weather outside is the main cause. I hope we all stay healthy, guys.
