Mountain Ridges, Hiking Up, Waking the Animals 📷

I just love exploring ridges in the great Canadian Rockies and this ridge (King's Ridge) is one with some amazing views, valleys down behind it that are untouched and beautiful for pictures

Endless lookups heading up the ridge, to enjoy even better views in all directions.

The morning clouds were lifting away from the valleys.

This grouse didn't seem to even care that we were on 'his' trail and he stood his ground, puffing up and threatening us as we passed. Must have been guarding some eggs, as they would never stick around otherwise. So colorful these birds.

Among the larger animals most worry about in the mountains, I love seeing the little critters, like this large toad hiding under some rocks.
