There is a War of Information

Part of raising my children is teaching them how seek and test truth, not accepting something without researching and contemplating it. I know some parents want children to just be children (and my children enjoy lot's of children's things) but also to practicing THINKING.

Blue Pill is the Default Pill

As parents, we can't force our beliefs upon our children - they'll just grow up and call their parent's wackos someday. But what we can do is offer them a nurturing environment for them to see the truth clearly and not be afraid to have those beliefs challenged. Truth is always up for a challenge.

Following the "normal" path, my children will become indoctrinated like most people, like I was as a child. I want to save them the trouble of deprogramming, having higher fidelity information given to them to make belief decisions.

Misinformation / Disinformation

Misinformation does not offend me, but disinformation is highly offensive! One is an error, the other is a lie!

As parents, it's our job to provide access to information, even if it's not accurate - it's also our job as parents to investigate and decide the validity of information before presenting it to our children. It's our job to train children to enjoy seeking the truth of a matter and determine what is true, right and good.

Can't "Red Pill" Our Children

I know parents of certain political persuasion will suppress information, preventing children from being exposed, so they will more easily mirror the political opinions of the parents. Worse, they indoctrinate them so much that they can't think for themselves and are disturbed to the point of extreme distress and unhappiness.

It would be no better indoctrinating children the other way, causing them to hate and despise people with differing opinions or philosophies then them.

They have to see the evil for themselves and learn to hate the evil and love the people.

The Corrupt System is the Enemy, Not the People

I'm not an anarchist, but I am libertarian. I believe that rights are endowed by our creator and are not privileges granted to us by a governing power. I believe in the value of authority, but despise the ABUSE of authority.

Despise tyranny. Fondness for authority. Despise wickedness. Fondness for Mercy. Despise corruption. Fondness for government.

Wait, what? Did he say "fondness for government"? Yes, fondness for government order, despising corruption and oppression.

I wouldn't show the Matrix to my Children

But there is one line from the movie that has stuck with me over the years:

"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.”

I can't help but think we are approaching a time that we will see many people fight to protect the corrupt system because it has become skewed in their favor. It's "normal", it's efficient, it's orderly. They can't believe that it is deadly, wicked, harmful, dangerous and destructive.

A corrupt authority (system) may be considered "safe and effective" by the masses, but we all know there's poison in there.
