Tavern games is a new gaming system that uses the STEEM blockchain to place fair, open and verifiable wagers using steem.
You begin by purchasing Tavern Coins, most players begin with 0.10 tokens, so 1 STEEM gets you 10 games.
Once you have Tavern Coins, you can select your game, right now the only game is "Goblin Prince". More sure to come.
You're greeted by Thamrog... cheerful fellow. We purchase "bags" using our Tavern Coins.
Then we meet our goblin competitor. Each bag has a random number of gems and we guess if our bag has more or less than the goblin's bag.
Here is where it gets real... each game is a gamble to see if you can beat the "goblin".
It's a fun, low-risk game that entertains with interesting graphics and nice bonuses.
This correct guess converts 0.10 Tavern Coin into 0.13 STEEM transferred directly into the STEEM wallet!

I've been wondering how many users do currently play this game and how popular is it. any idea? And what's your own impression - is it project that grabs user long-term attention? Or is it just a game you play once and never come back?

Right now it's pretty short term attention, you could play once and walk away, but there are a number of things that keep a player interest long term:
So while the actual game has limited appeal, all these other factors together encourage a long-term experience. I hope this information is useful for you.
