Microphotography- Competition

This material does not pretend to be scientific, these are only assumptions, thoughts, if you like, this is generally a kind of technical sketch. All professionals and “professionals”, please do not judge this article harshly, treat it as a publicistic work of a person “not in the subject” looking from the outside.

This caveat is necessary, since we will be talking about photography here. Moreover, the photo is not simple, but mobile, that is, created with the help of a camera of a mobile phone, smartphone, communicator and even a mobile computer.

Everyone remembers well how just a few years ago a camera built into a phone was perceived as a toy, a kind of marketing add-on costing the consumer extra money, unnecessary and empty. Few believed that cameras would continue to develop and reach the heights that are now (however, I think this is far from the end). The fact that these are heights can be said quite boldly - pictures taken with the help of some phones can be printed in 10x15 format (you can get prints in a larger format, but this may require additional processing), put into albums and show to friends and friends. However, first things first.

What is a camera in a phone for? Some time ago (we will still have to meet sending back in the course of the article) it was just an indistinct device for obtaining not very high-quality portrait pictures used to identify a subscriber in the address book, displaying on the screen when an incoming or outgoing call, and for MMS , of course, because it was in symbiosis with this service that it was proposed to use the built-in camera. Now it is used more and more often, but let's go through photographic genres and try to analyze which of them the camera phone is most suitable for.

A portrait - the already mentioned opportunity to quickly capture a person's face and "substitute" it in a notebook - is in demand now, and is in great demand, since special programs for smartphones are being released that allow you to enlarge the photo displayed on the device screen. However, this is not quite an artistic portrait, but rather a utilitarian one, comparable to what is done for documents. That is, there can be no question of any kind of disclosure of the artistic image of speech.

It seems to me that with the help of a camera phone, of course, you can make an interesting portrait, but quality is important here, because I would like both adequate color reproduction (skin, eyes, hair color), and good detail (wrinkles, folds may not be visible). I think no additional explanations are needed, even the best representatives of camera phones will not cope with the task adequately in most cases. Therefore, for this genre it is still better to use an “ordinary” camera together with a tripod.
