To all Steemians ♨️, I send you a very special greeting. Thanking @strawberry and the Steemit Contest Community, for this wonderful initiative.
The President of the Republic, Rafael Caldera, inaugurated on January 25, 1999, a monument to the Liberator in the grounds of the Orinoco Botanical Garden in Ciudad Bolívar - Venezuela, just in front of the Casa de San Isidro, inhabited by Bolívar himself between the years 1818-1819.
⚡ The pedestrian sculpture, flag-bearing and with a position never seen before, is made up of 120 pieces and is the tallest statue of Simón Bolívar in Venezuela and the largest in the world.
⚡ It measures 9.60 meters and its pedestal finished in granite measures 9.60 meters. The sculpture weighs 8,500 kilos and the support structure 1,500 kilos. It was modeled in about 10 tons of clay poured into plaster of 120 moldings. The parts were joined with electric welding and their finish was made with fire patina.

⚡ Its modeling and casting in plaster required a time of three months, the casting, welding, review and patina was done in 6 months and its transfer and assembly took 10 days.
⚡ This immense work by the sculptor Manuel de la Fuente was ordered by the President of the CVG, Elías Nadim Ynaty Bello, and inaugurated on the premises of the Orinoco Botanical Garden by the President of the Republic, Rafael Caldera, on January 26 of 1999, with the following legend on a bronze plate written by the Chronicler of the City Américo Fernández:
“Angostura was the beginning of the end of Colonialism, thanks to the temperament of a man who became a warrior for freedom and a statesman to govern in the midst of the most stormy difficulties. Here on the grounds of Hacienda San Isidro, Bolívar wrote his message to the Congress of Angostura and the draft Constitution of the independent and sovereign Republic. From here he led and traced the destiny of six nations, founded the Correo del Orinoco and concentrated the weapons for the freedom of America”.
