Сontest STEEM PLANTS : Week #2 | #club5050 | Plantain Tree

Greetings, SteemContest community!

It is my pleasure to present my first "Steem plants contest" entry in this community. I'll set 10% beneficiary to @strawberrry

For this week, I'll participate with a Plantain Tree that grows in my house's backyard:

This is the most recent picture. I took it this morning

You may be wondering why it looks like a banana tree, right? Well, the plantain tree is pretty similar to the banana tree. They belong to the same family, the Musa genus.

This is how it looked when it was starting to give birth:

The fruit of the Plantain tree is also pretty similar to the bananas we know, but they are not precisely fruits, they can't be eaten fresh like bananas, because they need to be cooked. You can cook plantains in different ways, and they are all delicious: you can fry them, boil them in salty water, mash them (yes, just like potatoes), and toast them. In Caribbean countries like The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico or Cuba, people eat them while they are still green by toasting them.

This is how it looked when the first fruits started popping out

The fruits have grown a little bigger, and there are also more of them coming out, as you can see here:

This is it. Thanks for reading
