Contest // Topic of the week №58 // Is a world war possible? by @imtiaz Iqbal>
Asalamalikum my beloved Steemian Friends.
I hope all the ladies and gentlemen are fine and doing well here and will participate in this wonder-full contest that @slon21veka organizes. I am very thankful to this community which allow me to share my thoughts about the World war possibilities. Before I share my opinion, I would love to share some basic history of world war I and world war two so that we all get familiar with what factors are involved in the creation of war and its side effects.
World War I began in July of 1914, and the final day of the conflict was November 11, 1918. Wars broke out between the most powerful nations of the modern era, with Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Ottoman Empire (and briefly Italy) on the other. Then there were conflicts between Great Britain and the United States. As many as 20 million people were killed in the conflict, and the world's most powerful empires were destroyed. The Soviet Union was reestablished as the communist successor state to Czarist Russia. The Weimar Republic was reestablished, and portions of Germany's eastern and western territories were ceded.
Almost 150 million people were killed and wounded in World War II, which was a continuation of the battle that began in Europe in 1914 and spread to the rest of the world. It was a global conflict that pitted the Germanic peoples (and eventually the Japanese) against the Western Allies, Soviets/Russians, and China against the Germanic peoples (and then the Japanese). Serbian nationalists killed Arch-Duke Franz Ferdinand of Serbia in 1914, which triggered the Russians' land grab for the Balkans, which prompted Germany to respond with force. After the Germans were humiliated in 1919, they were enraged and, under the leadership of one of history's deadliest madmen, Adolf Hitler, the Germans re-ignited in the West, while Japan attempted to conquer the East. Using nuclear weapons on Japan and repeatedly battering Germany, the war ended in 1945. German and Japanese troops massacred millions of helpless civilians during World War II in genocidal acts motivated by ideology and a desire to rule the world. People in the West believed that Britain's commitment, American funding, and Russian blood sacrifice were the three deciding factors in winning the war. By starving Japan into submission, the U.S. Navy aided the Allies to victory in the East by unleashing two atomic bombs, which effectively ended the war for the Allies. The war had a long-lasting impact on the world.
My opinion about the world war possibilities, which we may call World War 3, started already. The world is going to advance day by day. Technologies are at their peak. This war is mainly concerned with economics. All the countries in the world want to be economically strong and independent. The country with the highest GDP is the most influential in the world.
Furthermore, Nationalism is still one of the factors which will lead to world war. If we look 10 or 20 years back, the US ruling the world and one of the most powerful countries of the world have a powerful influence upon the world in terms of trade, technology, war equipment, GDP etc. But it's also the fact that it's only the US who have two dual-standard policies regarding the world's developed states and under growing conditions of the world. What America do with Afghanistan and Iraq are not hidden from anyone. America destroyed Afghanistan and left its people helpless, and we nowadays see what Afghanistan is suffering most same is the case of Iraq. Take the example of nowadays most highlighted topic is Russia vs Ukraine war. We all know Russia bombarded Ukraine, and the public of Ukraine suffered a lot; in such a scenario, the UN and the US put sanctions upon Russia and wanted to help Ukraine in this challenging time. The question arises here we all are human, and we all deserve the same treatment and respect. So why UN and all the European nations were sleepy when America started Afghanistan and Iraq. The most probable answer is Nationalism. I believe every person in this world have the right to enjoy their life in their way, according to their religion, according to their own culture and according to their own country's law.
There are so many factors that cause the war among the countries, and sometimes these factors are so critical that they eventually become the primary and ultimate reason for the war creation among continents or all over the world. In my opinion following are the possible factors which will cause world war.
1: Economic stability
2: Nationalism
3: Imperialism
4: Militarism
5: Alliance System
6: water deficiency
7: Minerals
War is never the solution to any problem. Everybody in the world needs peace. Every person is a precious asset of their country. We all need to respect one another and not put ourselves in any discrimination.
Being human lets us confess that we all spread the message of peace and love. We all admit that we will all serve humanity, and we will never be involved in any discrimination.
Finally, I will make sure that my intentions are not to hate or spread negativity about any country, and I apologize in advance. I hope all my fellows will like my article and will support me.
