Did SpaceX really go into space? You'll get what you search for! And a bit of censorship...

in Project HOPE4 years ago (edited)

Come on people, SpaceX got into space and connected with the international space station. There are videos everywhere showing the awesome events, and it has brought great excitement to many people. But, then you have this other group of people, and I know some of them, who say that it is all a giant scam. Just like Neil Armstrong never walked on the moon (they just recorded it in a studio somewhere), now they are tricking us again. In fact, a mouse showed up on the rocket somewhere to prove it even more that this was just a trick and house recording project.

Have you ever heard someone come up with such thoughts? I have... and do you know what is incredible? If you do a quick Google search, you will have no trouble finding lots of blogs and posts supporting exactly those beliefs. This is once again what makes Internet such a strange and hard place. You will find everything you want to.

What's up with the vaccines?

Can you imagine someone who gives their child a vaccine, and afterward, they discover something strange with the child. They will immediately search the net to find out if there can be some connection between the vaccine and the behavior, and they will find lots of posts and articles that strengthen their faith in that.

Did you see a UFO last night? If you look on the Internet, you will get in contact with lots of others who also saw a UFO last night. Isn't that strange? And if you believe that the United States are hiding remnants of UFO's and other alien stuff, well, you will find big groups of people supporting that view.

What about the coronavirus?

There are so many conspiracy theories about the coronavirus out there. Is it all just about someone making a lot of money to sell face masks? Is it supported and invented by the pharmaceutical companies to sell more medicines? Is it about spreading fear? You will find a lot of theories, thoughts, and conspiracy theories...

And guess what... a good friend of mine got very angry, because he wanted to share with me a video made by a German doctor who came up with such a conspiracy theory about the virus. Do you know what happened? It was removed, by YOUTUBE. In other words, it became a quick victim to the active censorship taking place on YouTube. Is that okay? What do you think?

How to deal with all of this?

Modern technology gives us the chance to spread all sorts of thoughts, information, rumors, lies, and everything online. But, how are we to treat all this information? I believe that we need to teach our kids to think and use common sense! It isn't enough to learn how to search with Google, we need to teach them and ourselves how to interpret, understand, and treat the information we get with some necessary filters.

I can easily become a victim who believes in something for one second (because it seems convincing), but when I read the opinion of someone else, I suddenly support them instead. Why? We just believe what we read, instead of actually thinking through what we read, and coming up with our own thoughts, questioning the sources, and so much more.

Once again, teaching ourselves and those around us to think is even more important than censorship in the first place. But, personally, I also believe there is a time to censor information, especially facts that can damage us a lot. Of course, it is hard to censor it when Donald Trump tweets about stupid topics that he has no understanding about and recommends medicine against the coronavirus that doesn't help at all, but still...

Not everyone can read something and question the content... to protect them, it is important to censor information.

I am sorry if this article has been a bit messy, but I just wanted to share some more thoughts on censorship, checking your sources, learning to be skeptical to what you read and so much more. I believe it is of uttermost importance if you want to be successful and live a balanced and happy life!

Did he really didn't walk on the moon?😲 I'm quite surprised about this because almost everyone believes he walked on the moon.

I can easily become a victim who believes in something for one second (because it seems convincing), but when I read the opinion of someone else, I suddenly support them instead.

I also tend to have this type of character too because I always love it when you proof your words! There should always be evidence backing up your claims whenever you tell me something important most especially if it has to do with situations like this.

Not everyone can read something and question the content... to protect them, it is important to censor information.

This is really the main fact! The sad reality is that people tend to believe everything they read both online and offline without making any personal research about the topic at hand.

Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead

Really glad to read your comment and glad you dropped by. I guess we need to teach ourselves and others how to deal with sources and how to decide what to believe and what not to believe!

The eyes of the world are on this event, however as you are saying that there are many conspiracy theories and that is valid the human decides what to believe and what not to believe, only the facts can show whether or not he was in it. true to believe in something.

Although you say it is messy, I think it is not, you see the difference in believing or not in something ..

Regards.

Yeah, I guess it doesn't have to be messy... as everyone will actually see and hear what they want to hear...

The internet has a lot of writers who daily publish on it, each giving a different view and opinion to topics, I agree with your point- Children should mostly be trained on not totally taking in everything seen on the internet.

Yeah, find that to be a lesson that should be taught in our school nowadays... rather how to think than what to think :)

@unbiasedwriter spacex is a very big company like we can say nest to nasa the will not do any bluff kind of thing in front of the world, because it will damage their goodwill that hey have made in long way.

I totally agree with you, but I guess there is a percentage of the population that think completely opposite! Those are the same persons who believe Bill Gates is using the coronavirus to gain even more power and to spread his world of dangerous vaccines...

@tipu curate

I watched a video of the event yesterday and I did not even feel the need to doubt the event and I agree with the valid point you raised, our kids should be thought about not trusting everything they see on the internet.

Hello my dear @unbiasedwriter, thanks for sharing this article.

Your publication reminds us of that number of theories, of lies that circulate on the net and that make us believe less in people. Until now I think that Xpace went to outer space, now I have to investigate to see what reality is.

We must be very careful with what we read on the internet and the announcement of some unscrupulous leaders.

Anyway thanks for sharing.
