Wikipedia ditched proof of stake donation due to environmental impact.

Following the recent Mozilla, saga halting all proof of work crypto donations on its web-based application due to some controversial issues on revised policy on crypto donations which claims proof of work are energy-intensive to proof of stake.

Mozilla will no longer accept ‘proof-of-work’ cryptocurrencies, which are more energy-intensive.
Mozilla will accept ‘proof-of-stake’ cryptocurrencies, which are less energy-intensive, and will develop and share a list of cryptocurrencies we accept by the end of Q2 2022. source

Wikipedia a global online content sharing community connecting users globally to have access to various information through content sharing has reached a final decision to drop all crypto donations on its community following a voting poll system where 71% voted in favor of the poll on backlashing all crypto-based donations.
Wikipedia has been running a successful crypto charity fund since 2014 which allows readers to tip content creators with bitcoin, ethereum, and bitcoin cash, data showed revenue generated through a crypto donation in 2021 is just around 0.08% which has been converted to liquid cash.

According to the Wikipedia foundation community, it did pull down crypto donations from its platform due to feedback from volunteers and donors this sounds catchy as there is no valid proof to back up their statements.

Bitcoin mining claims to pose a major environmental threat to human society at large our water has been contaminated by pollutants, electronic noise pollution, and air pollution these are claims from environmental activists that bitcoin mining has impacted human lives and exposed man health.

The proof of work consensus layer has lately been working on going green with an alternative energy source most of the claims from this environmental activist are just mare claims to discredit blockchain technology according to MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor he added that the environmental protection agency (EPA) has misconception on how bitcoin mining works and their claims are inaccurate.

Final thought

I suppose more educational guides need to be published for the public to understand the working principle of bitcoin mining firms to avoid further leading misinformation about crypto mining exposing humans to greater health challenges.

Users not fully understanding these principles could affect crypto adoption since recognized organizations are beginning to show less interest on proof of work layers more users will also mirror their views on negative impact of mining activities leading to less mass adoption in near future.

They should consider ditching machines used in transportation too. That will show their commitment to the environment.

Haha 😂 they seem very confused and have little understanding of what bitcoin mining entails, these people have little understanding of how cryptography is changing the world thanks for your time.

Your post was upvoted and resteemed on @crypto.defrag

Many reports have been stating that over 70% of Bitcoin miners are using "green energy" in their activities which causes next to zero harm to the environment. I wonder how long those anti-crypto old guys will keep ignoring facts! And by the way, how about they consider shutting down the traditional financial transportation system which consumes 10x energy?

Thanks for sharing :) @mccoy02

It's draws lots of concern that these anti-crypto guys have little idea about bitcoin mining they do everything in their power to discredit it the good side is they wont succeed thanks for your time.

My thoughts on the environmental impact of crypto…it is far better than legacy systems.

Good post @mccoy02.

These people need to work on their research and come up something better they have little understanding of what blockchain is offering.
