[Tron and Steemit] A marriage that is announced on February 14 on Valentine's Day
The announcement made on February 14 just on Valentine's Day, I leave many very dismayed including me.
One thing is reality and another thing is great uncertainty, but at this moment I only have a lot of uncertainty about what can happen with the reality of our platform.
Since I heard this news, I only ask myself more questions about what can happen.
How can it affect me individually?
How it can affect the community, of course the way it affects individually will mark the behavior of the community. ?
How will the platform look like?
Should we open another Tron wallet?
What will happen to the other decentralized applications (DApps)?
How will the adequacy be?
The Steem blockchain could hard fork
What role will the Witnesses play?
How long will it be implemented?
How will Steem and Sbd be affected?
What will happen to the STM?
What will happen to the Steem-Engine Tribes?
Fear of what might happen, can you create a run of many by withdrawing your investment?
I must continue reading for more information, I am confused about what this marriage or association announcement can mean, or what you want to call it.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens ...

Many people seem to worry if this will be some sort of hostile takeover. I worry too, however I remember in the past Instagram users were also worried once Facebook bought over. Similar story.
Any idea how much did Justin pay for this transaction? Most likely he could spent less money on building similar userbase by hiring several professional marketing agencies across the globe. I may be wrong, but I like to believe that he wouldn't spent much just for that reason. Especially knowing how badly STEEM userbase shrinked after recent fork.
Im afraid that if we would need to do SWAP and exchange steem to TRX, then it means that everyone need to power down to receive liquid steem. And that would mean cancelling all delegations.
All curation trail and network of auto-upvotes would be distrubted. All of it would be gone. For many large projects out there (like curie, ocdb, tipu) it may be a very challenging time.
What a year so far. Iran , coronavirus, chinese economy and manufacturing in chaos, printing record high amount of money by central banks, upcoming recession and now this news about steem and tron.
Interesting and challenging times ahead of us.

I have been worried since the announcement was made but i will be waiting for Justin video in less than 1 hour from now.
Also, TRON and EOS have been competitors and i will not be surprised that buying steemit.inc and announcing it on Feb 14 has something to do with EOS launching its social network VOICE on the same Feb 14.

I watched video with Justin and Ned. And in my opinion it did serve great purpose - it surely reduced tension. Building plans and roadmaps can take place in the future.
Right now proving some communication skills and lowering tension is surely a priority.
Wouldn't you think that Steem with @ned as a captain (the way it has been for very long) was kind of going nowhere? I surely didn't have much hopes earlier on for better future. Justing most likely will care more about our community than Ned did.
For many "small people" current takeover may be nothin more than changing 'ruling party'. Those in power will change, but show "must go on". And it will. With current whales (of which many are very hostile towards users) or without.
I decided to be optimistic.

To be sincere, since 2016 that i have known Ned to be the captain of steem, it has been a ship heading for an iceberg. Although, Justin has acquired a few project and in the years but i haven't seen much changes... tron has a lot of dead dapps, dlive hasn't changed from how he bought it, BitTorrent is still the same when it comes to product.

If I was researching and I share your opinion. I also learned about the war he has with the creator of ETH he says that Justin, the only thing he knows how to do is use the Ctrl + c keys and then Ctrl + v

just a business, a merchandise.
I hope Sun doesn't see it the same way. We know that the main
objective for them is capital, business, but behind Steemit there is a
very important user base: there are other industries involved,
communities and individuals who trust the platform. In fact, we can
talk about a "feeling" towards the platform. This feeling is a PLUS
that no other blockchain social platform has. Therein lies the great
intrinsic value of Steemit.

This is very worrying.
I don't want that to happen at all. just as you mention all the curation trail would be lost, and many of us will also lose.

The decision to sell Steemit came because its owners likely realized that it was a rapidly failing platform, and would go out out of business very shortly under its current business model and management. Selling it was the only viable option left. By selling it, Steemit will indeed be under new management which will mean at least 2 major changes:
Steemit will no longer be part or the Steem Blockchain; It will instead become part of Tron's Blockchain...arguably a much better system, as well as having a much higher CAP; #13 vs only #77 for Steem.
Steemit will more than likely no longer be under any part of Steemit's current management and Witness system. It will instead be under Tron's, which no doubt will result in massive changes to the Steemit Forum platform, as it is migrated into Tron's Blockchain.
I'm sure that there will be some long-time Steemit members who will not like these changes. But in reality, it was because of them that Steemit owners were forced to take such drastic measures in the first place.
Unfortunately, in reality, there were a number of long-time Steemit members and even some Steemit Witnesses, who no longer wanted to play fair, but instead chose to abuse the Steemit system (such as down-voting) to their own personal advantage. @themarkymark and his sidekick @buildawhale were two such members. Others included @steemcleaners @roomservice @bullionstackers @quarantine @the-reef @block-power @quarantine @blockcreate @steemcleaner and others.
I tried warning them several times that this was coming (Yes, I knew), but they all chose to ignore me and instead downvote all my posts (present, past and future) in an effort to try and silence me.
So I guess I get the last laugh after all, especially since I am quite confident that none of the above members will be part of the new system under Tron. Justice will indeed be done.

Just having a look at your post I could see how nervous you feel.
You could barely write a few quick lines, without justifying margins.
Many questions in your mind and few answers.
That's how we all feel. There is a lot of uncertainty.
I have not wanted to publish about it because the available information is not solid. They are only speculations.
Well then let's speculate:
I think Justin Sun saw in Steemit a jewel of great value.
He already has his plans to take advantage of Steemit.
Instead, the last thing I would do would be to change Steemit to destroy it or try to detract it.
On the contrary I think he is going to bring Tron to Steemit.
A symbiotic relationship, where both benefit from each other without harming themselves.
Of course, there will be changes in Steemit. But they will not be abrupt modifications. There will be an adaptation process. I don't think this business giant buys a castle with the intention of demolishing it.
That is the best I could read after the announcement.
We will continue waiting for the events.
