A true friendship is not destroyed over time.
Many times we come to think that we have lost our friends because years have passed and we have not seen or talked to them again, but a chance meeting will awaken all those old feelings and we will realize that the friendship is still alive.
As you say, friendship cannot go one way, it is reciprocal.
It is not about choosing a person to benefit from them, they are feelings of brotherhood that are born with constant interaction and thus we can develop a strong bond.
If a friendship depends on the economic factor to survive, then it is not a true friendship. It is better to call things by name and speak of a society or association.
