Power and manipulation in social networks

Today I want to bring a topic for discussion that I hope will be of interest to you. Social networks have evidently been radically replacing what television was as a means of communication, which gives great power to those who have large followers on their accounts.
This is the case of what are called influencers, who after gaining a large number of followers, make those who believe in them follow them when they recommend an investment or if they offer some training.
Recently in Colombia a big problem was generated after a million-dollar scam through a cryptocurrency that a group of influencers said was the first Colombian cryptocurrency, offering a high initial profitability.
This turned out to be a pyramid scheme where there were thousands of people involved who lost their money.
Additionally, there is another case, even more recent, where another well-known influencer, named Juan Diego Gomez, with a large number of followers, in addition to offering "training" courses for investors, has offered investments in a North American company.
Recently, the commission in Colombia that is in charge of reviewing all these events ruled that this influencer had to immediately paralyze this business because he was not authorized to operate in the country.
In this case we are not talking about a scam, but it could be. The detail that I want to highlight in this post is that the power that influencers have is increasing, and that you have to educate yourself properly to avoid falling into scams.
