Interesting fact about the beginning of the space race

in Project HOPE2 years ago

Hello Project Hope Community, I hope you are having a great day. Recently, for different reasons I have been reading some different things than usual, so I have been treating myself to some hours of reading and videos regarding the beginning of the space race.

Unfortunately its first steps were in the middle of a war to try to have supremacy in that area, given mainly between the Soviet union and the United States. Which gave me the impression that what they were looking for was more propaganda in the middle of the cold war than anything else.

The stories emerge in sometimes unexpected ways. Let's remember that by 1945 the Second World War ended, that beyond the holocaust caused by the Nazis, there was also death in the war, but we cannot forget the nuclear bombs that the United States dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

In the post war period the Soviet Union created its own nuclear bombs, much more powerful and heavier than those manufactured by the U.S., which required powerful aircraft to transport these bombs.

So they entrusted the engineer Sergey Pavlovich to create such a transport, which could move those bombs. So he created a big rocket, called R.7 Semiorka (1957) being the first of the "transcontinental" type created, but capable of moving the heavy bombs.

This is how the first trips to space were made, and the Soviets were the ones who started all this, in the 1960s, first they sent a space probe that transmitted some signals, then they sent a dog named Laika, then a man (Yuri Gagarin) and in another trip a woman (Valentina Tereshkova). Later on, the whole process of Man on the moon took place, and it was the Americans, supposedly.

Particularly this is something that I do not believe at all, because if they did it 50 years ago, why now with so much technology they have not achieved it? but this is another subject...

Later they realized that these rockets were strong enough to reach space, to leave the Earth's orbit, so they made the first tests and thus began the great space race.

This was something I did not know, but I found it very interesting and wanted to share it.

What I think is that when the first trips to space were made, the only interest that existed was political between the United States and the Soviet Union.

The country that managed to reach space first was the one that was going to impose itself, that is to say capitalism winning over socialism or vice versa, even though technology has increased nobody has gone to the moon anymore, it is because there is no geopolitical interest, and in space or at least on the moon there is no interest in any important resource that can be exploited there.

Excellent post that made me think a lot. Greetings and thanks for sharing.

You make a good point, that's probably it, there is nothing to prove, wars are handled differently. But still, I don't think they have reached the moon yet. Thanks for commenting.

Hi @josevas217

engineer Sergey Pavlovich to create such a transport, which could move those bombs. So he created a big rocket, called R.7

I had no clue that this is how it all started. thanks for the researching and creating such an informative post.

Hello friend @josevas217, valla the truth did not know how this began this space age seems quite an interesting topic, like you I wonder if so many years ago where technology was not yet at its peak development could reach the moon why now have not been able to.

This is a great mystery that generates doubts, but it is what we have been sold.

Because of greed, fear, and hostility, Humans have developed ways to destroy their planet multiple times. We're living in a world where a single button can kill millions of people at a moment's notice. A horrible thing to think about...

Particularly this is something that I do not believe at all, because if they did it 50 years ago, why now with so much technology they have not achieved it? but this is another subject...

This is a bit of a "hot potato" subject. There are many people who believe that the trip to the moon was just a conspiracy to show American superiority against the Soviet Union and the fact that those trip has never happened again since then is a bit interesting

Thanks for sharing...Have a good day :)

Hello friend @josevas217, certainly the space race started for geopolitical reasons, to avoid Russian domination of space. The return to the Moon has been so long because there is no longer the pressure to get there before another country and because it is extremely expensive, hopefully with the Artemis mission that is about to take off NASA will take a person to the Moon again, which will be a woman who will step on it this time.
