How quickly can a complete switch to clean energy be made?steemCreated with Sketch.

in Project HOPElast year

Hello friends of Project Hope, best wishes to all. I recently went to another part of the city of Bogota and a doubt arose in my mind, or rather, more than a doubt some questions around all those "advances" around clean energy and proposals to completely eliminate the use of fossil energy.

There are projects that seem even a kind of illusion, which point to the fact that by 2050 CO2 emissions will be eliminated, or will fall almost to levels of 10% that exist today, this particular seemed to me quite difficult to visualize.

Of course, I know that there are still some years to go, practically three decades to reach that date, but even so, considering how slowly some changes tend to be implemented, I see it as quite complex.

Seeing the amount of cars that exist, and that are still being sold, I see it very complicated, and costly, that all cars are changed to models that only use clean energy. I would like that to happen, but the truth is that in economic terms and in terms of time I see it really complicated.

In Bogota, for example, there is a limitation on the circulation of cars. For example, on even numbered days, cars with license plates ending in an odd number cannot circulate, and on odd numbered days (3-5-7, etc.) cars with license plates ending in an even number cannot circulate.

This is a measure taken by the state a long time ago to reduce the number of cars on the road. Since acquiring a car via credit was so easy, many people have two cars, ending in odd and even numbers, so that they can always drive to work.

What I want to make see with this reality is that it is and will be extremely complicated to make that change, and more if we consider the current prices of cars that run on electric power, do not you think?

I would like to know what you think about it.

Hi dear friend @josevas217

and on odd numbered days (3-5-7, etc.) cars with license plates ending in an even number cannot circulate.

the famous "pico y placa", something that I have experienced and it really works, the police see someone driving and fine him if he is on his stop day, now about the CO2 reduction, let's wait and see, where I live there are several Tesla but there is still a long way to go to reach the 10% you are talking about.

god bless you

It would definitely take a lot of time before we get to the point of switching completely to clean energy, especially in under-developed and developing countries, that will indeed take a lot more time.
