And it is that, dear readers, a society in which the average citizen knows the composition of the different football teams friends and rivals, that knows the life and miracles of all the badass and whores that roam the television programs, but is incapable to name 3 people who have received the Nobel Prize, it is nothing more than a society of functional illiterates.

This really got me thinking for some period of time. I think illiteracy simply means inability to read and write. This is really an important aspect we really need to reduce as much as possible.
