Cheap and Cheerful Bento Boxes @ Kinshicho, Japan

Hi Everyone,

When you visit Japan, another thing you need to try is their bento boxes. Right next to Kinshicho JR outside of Termina, I found a cheap and cheerful bento box place which is very popular with the locals. They sell all sorts of bento and ready to go meals for busy workers and families.

Prices vary but offer a whole range of unagi bentos, seafood, various fish, tamago etc which suits everyone’s taste. Each variety also comes in different sizes which are perfect for those who have bigger families.

This store is definitely very local and don’t expect to be able to ask questions in English. The workers there are an older generation so they are limited to communicating in Japanese. Just experience and buy what you think looks interesting. The prices I find are a bit cheaper than at the supermarket with a nicer variety especially the cooked squid and unagi. I was glad to find this place and eat like a local!
