surreal sunrise at Ladoga skerries (photo52)

This week prompt was 'Long exposure', so I remembered about this surreal photo I am pretty in love with, maybe it isnt that stunning or great, just my strong personal connection with it? Taken with Canon 5D, 16-35mm 2.8, using my hands only with 1/2 sec exposure.
this is an edited version (I've edited out it for the better colours and more visible clouds -- once this was my entry to 'Love the Clouds' contest by @tobetada). but this is a bit far from what my eyes have seen... the real picture was dim and less colourful.
What you see here, is a picture from the 1st day of our travel to the Ladoga skerries. It is the deep morning (about 3 o'clock or so) and our ship is heading to the skerries at the northern side of the lake. Each time it maybe the hardest part of the travel (or the less pleasurable), as it is a 5-hour nightly transfer which we have to survive sitting on the cold and wind-blown deck; even if the weather is fine, it is always devilishly cold, boring and surviving entertainment. (And there aren’t enough cabins to just sleep through this time in the warmth).
So, when we arrived to the 1st stop point, basically we were up to make a camp asap -- to have eventually 4-5 hours of a decent sleep. But before I crawled off to our tent, I made a few shots.
If you consider the last pic to be a more quality one, I cannot argue with that. But at least, the one I chose as my entry, is more unusual and not an everyday-stuff, right?
I agree, it is a unusual photo, but interesting.

thanks for the kind words, anyway. I do like handy job... and too lazy for borrowing tripod at my photo walks. also, I made mistake buying it -- got one too strong and solid! not the best one that suits me ... I'd better go with something less gigantic, that better go with capturing macro)
