Intro: One day Trips

November 2016
It's a typical rainy evening at the bar. We are drinking beers,
chatting about this and that, laughing and joking around until someone:

"Hey guys, Ryanair is making offers. Let's take a vacation"

A great idea that would make most people happy; but the answers weren't in tune.

"Can't afford that, I have class and I can't skip too many lessons"
"Me neither, I'm working and I can't take any days off now"
"I just can't scrape together the money for a vacation right now"
"Well, then how about a one day trip!"

And this is exactly what the blog it's about: One day trips.
Did you ever wanted to visit a city, but you had little time or not enough funds to visit it?

This blog's objectives are to:
Create itineraries for a single day visit of a city, while giving you tips on how to save money while traveling.
The itineraries will be calculated, over a 12 hour period (8 AM-8PM) and I'll try to stay within the 50 euro budget (including flight, travel and food).
Time is always running out as we all know, so take into account that you will not be able to visit all the attractions. But do not be discouraged as you will see that the holiday could turn out better than you expected!

"How can you enjoy the trip when you are all the time in a rush? I need to take my time to watch, visit, discover ..."

You couldn't be more right, it's always better to stop for 2 or 3 more days, to take it easy and relax, but unfortunately not everyone has this privilege.
That's why I'll also leave links to hostels, B&Bs and who knows maybe some BNB , if it happens. So if you want to spend some more days, there will be an economic alternative to those expensive places called Hotels!

RECAPPING (you may have already noticed that I'm a very synthetic person)

  • I'll talk about 1 day trips
  • Itinerary based on 12 hours
  • I'll still leave options for multiple nights in a city

HOW TO PACK?

Now that we have already outlined the blog guidelines let's move on to the travel tips, in this case what should go in your backpack.
Since time is limited, packing should also be limited to the essential also because some airlines are often not so generous in terms of baggage. For these reasons I have selected some essential objects on every occasion. You will probably have some of them already, but maybe there could be some interesting ideas!

WATER BOTTLE
"What now? I'm not a boy scout?"
Maybe not, but the water bottle is a fundamental tool for saving in a trip. Sometimes we visit countries with much higher prices than ours (See any capital of Northern Europe) and a 50cl bottle can cost up to 5 euros! Better to have one already in your backpack.

BOWL
"What now? I'm not a boy scout?" Pt.2
Even a bowl can be almost indispensable, in fact perhaps not everyone knows that on most planes you're allowed to bring dry food (pasta, sandwiches), so a bowl (and a lid) are very useful for a transactional packed lunch!

HEADPHONES
They can also work as earplugs (against any crying / talking / various noises). In this regard I always recommend some Sennheisers to everyone I know, because they are excellent value for money.
"When I was living in London, I bought a pair of Sennheiser headphones for £ 20. I've managed to exchange the pair with a pair of Beats by Dre, since as soon as my roommate tried them he fell in love with it! I later sold the Beats and bought a better pair of headphones"

ADAPTER
Did you know that many countries have different electrical outlet plugs than ours? (See United Kingdom)
So I highly recommend it, rather than being without charge on one of your devices and maybe miss the opportunity to take pictures. It could be useful in future trips, you never know! If I were you I would also think about getting a Power Bank, why not?

K WAY
What if it turned out rainy? Tired and sick is not the best way to go home.

PASSPORT (and custody)
For some itineraries described, the passport is not binding (For example for EU citizens when travelling in the EU an ID is enough), but for convenience it's always better to have it with you, it being the most recognizable document in the world.
As I always say: " When travelling it's better to have one more ID than one less"
Why custody? Because in addition to being very delicate, the Italian passport is the poorest in terms of materials! It may happen that it breaks in your hand if not handled with care.
"The Italian passport is one of the passports that allows you to visit more places in the world without permission (175 out of 218), after the German one (177)
and Swedish (176).
All this is made possible thanks to numerous international agreements entered into by our ambassadors.

CAMERA
Whether it's Reflex, Bridge or Mirrorless, most of you have a camera, there are those who use it for pleasure, others to capture moments.
(For example me, have you ever seen my Instagram profile?), In case you approach this world, entry-level SLR cameras are a good compromise.

PREPAID CREDIT CARD
Let me tell you right away: those who travel to a foreign with a different currency are often "robbed"!
Oh yes, not only you do have to pay the exchange rate (always lower than the real one) but also the taxes at the operator's discretion! So it is always better to pay by credit card or prepaid.

BACKPACK
Perhaps the most useful and the most overlooked object in travel, even when it often makes the difference! A travel backpack should be well organized, full of pockets (even secret ones), and above all comfortable and durable. In this case, fashion leaves the time it finds! Decathlon makes excellent travel backpacks, that are also very safe from thieves! If their bags are not of your liking you can also consider the CabinMax!

in the first episode I'll give you some advice regarding Copenhagen and some beautiful places around there, I hope it will help you!
