RE: The Curation and Engagement Leagues 🏆
Always happy to see this weekly post @abh12345!
Congratulations to @galenkp who seems to be doing quite well at taking over the "throne" once occupied by @janton!
Because I'm a bit of a "numbers nerd,"* too... and also big into pattern recognition, I wanted to share this interesting tidbit...
This is from a year ago:
And this is from today:
Aside from the obvious observation that "activity is down," I find it VERY interesting that the alleged intention of the last hardfork(s) was to make engagement and curation more appealing, and there might be a "loss" to content creators...
... and yet, here we see that the top 100 are actually creating MORE top level posts, but engaging LESS. So... the exact opposite of the intended effect?
And look at the change in the percentage of self-voting as part of total votes!
I grant you this is just a quick and dirty snapshot, but I wonder what else lies hidden there?
Thoughts, anyone? Asher?
Very interesting.
I knew the numbers around comments and text was down, but am surprised to see just by how much. It makes sense though, only top level content earns these days, whereas in the past a good commentator could up rewards for engaging on the blogs of many.
I always fall back to price having a major say - account creation, posts, comments all follow the price chart.
