Who Do I Follow on Steem & Why? - With Pictures of the GwangGyo Reservoir

I like this post. I actually read it instead of skimming it as I do most of the others!

I follow so many people I no longer bother to go to my feed, instead i go directly to my favorites daily, or run through the PHC list to check out someone new. I'm going to cull my following list according to some of these criteria. Thanks for putting it together!

Please follow me. I think you'll be glad you did.

Thanks. It was sort of long, but hopefully had bits you could relate to.

I used to have the same problem with my feed. Steempeak allows you to star your favorites. Maybe that is the solution to avoid offending people? I do recommend a cull though. Some are dead projects. I was following several SBI accounts, lol.

I did just follow you. I thought I was following you because your posts show up so often on my feed from others redeeming.
I like that you are an aspiring farmer. Me, too.

Thank you ~♡♡♡~

Logically well written exceptional post... :) Thanks for sharing your perspective with everyone...

I am happy that everyone can share their experiences on Steem. Thank you ~

I love your take on this initiative @abitcoinskeptic! It is incredibly sensible and effective and I would expect nothing less from you! :D

Thank you @jaynie. I almost called you out twice, but I decided against mentioning @theluvbug under curation resteemers/reports because I already mentioned PHC in a different category. Also, this blog wasn't about individuals. I prefer to thank people by paying them a visit or with the odd re-steem.
I read a few posts on the subject for ideas and inspiration. Hopefully others do that. Going first or blindly is too brave.

Well I think it was a fabulously original - and yes, it would be nice to see more from this angle!

Thank you. You won't regret it my dear followee.

It's a nice approach - reasons and then examples, I like it!

Resteemed, because i hope that more people be like this and perhaps you motivated some people to work on their content/supporting people who are making great content.

I follow you, because i like the way you write and you had some topics where im interested in, of course crypto but also the (EM) radiation article for example.

I suggest you to look in @chappertron`s Blog, he is a german like me, but he makes some english articles too, had some really great steemstem articles about biologics.
Also i suggest following @lauch3d, who make great articles, mostly about crypto topics (often in english).

Thank you for your kind comment and mentioning some reasons why you follow me. Feedback is always welcomed. I remember that EM blog. I hope I helped you overcome your fears /s.
I want to write more STEM stuff, but I got side tracked when I got a camera. In anycase, I tag correctly usually and try to only produce quality stuff.
I hope more people keep upping the quality of their content. It may be important to draw votes as competition gets fiercer.
I already follow @launch3d. I will give @chappertron a follow as you suggest.

Ah, so now I now why you misaed my other post: you don't follow me! Only joking! I now exactly what you mean and now I rarely look at my feed and my followers, but rather use @gina. Then, I confess, I don't read every post.

I liked your analysis: it's very similar to what I would have done. I am, however, sitting this one out - got too much on my plate and because I addressed some of the issues in the other #steemimpact post.

That said, the question of who one follows and why, as opposed to the social chitchat is an important one, and I think you've addressed it. And, I follow some of the same folk for the same reason.

To quote you:

TL;DR

Finally: great photos of the lake and the water. On the ducks: they (and other avians) are the origin of "bird brain".

Good evening.

I'll admit I fell for your joke - I checked to make sure I still follow you. As I remember, I may not have read that post carefully. Sometimes I only skim and miss key points (I know my bad).
People can just read the headings and look for the @ mentions. I'm sure I pigeonholed (another dumb bird reference) people, but I mentioned no one normal is a purist ~ well maybe some accounts like bots are single focused, but I can sometimes even get them to go off script.
With all that said, I follow you for a few of those 10 reasons and maybe more I didn't mention. But I think it is your job to mention why I should follow you - also a neat idea for a similar challenge.

Hahaha!

Sometimes I only skim and miss key points (I know my bad).

Me, too!

no one normal is a purist ~ well maybe some accounts like bots are single focused, but I can sometimes even get them to go off script.

Well, that's one of the reasons I follow you...

I follow you for a few of those 10 reasons and maybe more I didn't mention.

Why, thank you, kind sir!

I think it is your job to mention why I should follow you - also a neat idea for a similar challenge.

Now, that would make interesting reading. Let alone thinking about.

Awesome post and reasoning. Always great to get some tactical advice from the successful people here like you.

I wrestled with hitting submit on my post because I should have added another 10 people for their unique contribution to my time here. Immediately, I thought of guys like you and @overkillcoin and decided you were folks that needed a post of their own rather than get racked onto the end of a post that was getting too long. ;)

Stay tuned and thanks for being a great part of my feed and powerful network.

Thank you for your kindness.
I also felt like I should add more people, but I took a categorical approach and stuck with one example for each that I found I could pigeonhole the best.
I did unfollow 60~ people as a result of reflecting on the topic of why do I follow people. Most of them don't post often enough for me to unfollow them because they are uninteresting, just some house cleaning.
I also didn't want to mention everyone because this isn't some award speech. Also, I am not promoting people this time. I feel good comments, resteems or mentioning people in posts has more effects.
I guess I could copy my follower list and just write a number beside each one for the reason I follow, then add ♡ ~ ♡♡♡♡♡ depending on how much love I want to give them. Still deciding if you are ♡♡♡♡ or ♡♡♡♡♡. I look forward to your posts and comments.
I shied away from focusing too much on initiatives, communities and dapps as those are a unique reason to follow an account.
Sometimes I think 3 feeds would be best

  • individuals who post good stuff I like
  • initiatives/other reasons to follow (homework)
  • curators who resteem good stuff I like (slow feed day/ spread the love)

Gosh it's a hard post to write. To be honest, I'm wrapping up mine now and I really don't like doing it. I'm almost not going to post - but I will, as I just worked on it. Love your approach, and appreciate what you do!

Thanks. It did take me quite some time to write. I guess it would be easy for someone who has been around for only a week or two, but for the rest of us, we really have to be selective.

Beautifully done!

I like your attitude- the world needs more rebels ;)

Glad you like this post. I'm not really down with using the terms 'follower' or 'following'. I wonder if there some kind of better word. Fans, friends, etc. all seems hard to describe it too.

If I follow people for at least 10 different reasons and some people are in multiple categories, maybe I need to think of terms to refer to these people differently.
Maybe I need to stop thinking I have 1000 followers and just think I have 1000 different people.

Yeah you are right, I definitely took an interesting approach to this question.

I call them my tribe :)

If you're writing a lengthy piece and need to generalize try alternating *readers" and "audience".

'readers' I've used that before. I never thought of 'audience'.
All my posts are lengthy and I love generalizing. Good ideas.

I'm happy to share :)
