Every system, and organization, and body works best with a security where workers, facilities and equipment are safe.
Without security, the safety of any system is at the risk of loss. On this wise, the Steemit Blockchain technology is built on multiple security systems in other to guarantee the safety of any account. This is done in order not to loose easily whatever one has acquired over a long period of time in the system.
The security system of Steemit is built with four security systems, namely: Posting Key, Active Key, Owner Key and Memo Key.

BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE FUNCTIONS AND USE OF THESE FOUR KEYS.

1. POSTING KEY: The posting key is used for social networking functions like commenting, voting, editing a post. It cannot be used for any monetary function.

Use your Posting Key to:
. Publish a post or comment
. Edit a post or comment
. Upvote or downvote
. Resteem content
. Follow people
. Mute accounts

1. ACTIVE KEY: The active key is used for more sensitive functions like sending and receiving tokens. It is used for wallet to wallet transactions. If you want to send your steem or steem power to another crypto trading account like binance, you have to make use of the active key. It is also used to change tokens to steem power.

Use your Active Key to:
Transfer tokens
a. Power STEEM up or down
b. SBD conversion
c. Vote for witnesses
d. Place an order on an exchange
e. Certain profile changes
f. Publish a Witness price feed
g. Create a new user

1. OWNER KEY: The security of every other key is hinged on owner key. When any other key is lost, the owner key can be used to retrieve back the key.

Use your Owner Key to:
A. Reset Owner, Active, and Posting keys
B. Retreive your account
C. Decline voting rights

MEMO KEY :This key is used to encrypt and decrypt a private message. When some one sends a private message to you, it is this key you are going to use to get access to the message. Also when sending a private message to another user of steemit, you need this key to send it.

As a new commer in this steemit, I do not really know how to use all the keys but I will make effort to consult people who are more knowledgeable to be taught.

HOW I SAVED MY KEYS.
I Understand that these keys should be kept in a secured place in other to ascertain the safety of my account. Therefore I have saved all my keys offline in a secure place placed in a personal password to be accessed only by me.
