The use and application of markdowns are very essential as it helps us create more organized content. There are codes for different types of markdowns, I'd be showing my understanding of these below;

HOW TO ALIGN IMAGES

Images could either be aligned to the left, right or center, depending on how you want the structure of your work to be. In my example below, I would be aligning my image to the center, while my text falls underneath

HEADLINES

If during the course of writing, you want to show the hierarchy or structure of your subject matter in an organized manner for easy identification by the reader, you can make use of headlines which would arrange them in a descending order i.e the hierarchy of courts in Nigeria, from the highest to lower courts are shown below;

Supreme court of Nigeria

Court of Appeal

Federal High court

High Court of the FCT

State High court e.t.c

ALIGNING TEXT INTO TWO CELLS

If you want to differentiate between two concepts or ideas, you can simply align them into two cells for easy identification i.e below are the differences between the military and civilian governments;

Civilian govt	Military govt
Headed by a president	Headed by a military head of state
It is a democratic government	It is undemocratic in nature
The president is elected into power	The head of state comes in through a coup/revolution
Rule with acts and laws	Rule with decrees and edicts

QUOTES

When writing, there is sometimes the need to quote. Therefore, in order to make quotes easily identifiable by the reader, the > sign is added before the quote, which makes it appear in a slightly faded and unique font. Below is an example;

HOW TO CENTER TEXT

In order to make your text centralized, a markdown command is used to make that effect. I would be using an explanation of the presidential system of government to show this

The presidential system of government is one headed by a president who serves both as head of state and government. He is elected for a fixed term, after which there is a change of power through an election. The president is elected into power by the people. There are three branches of government under the presidential system; the executive, legislature and judiciary who work independently of one another, but whose activities can be checkmated through the process of checks and balance.
