What is Plagiarism?
Copying / stealing others' work and publishing it without crediting the owner is known as Plagiarism. This is an offense. You click a picture and share it on the internet. Someone downloading the picture and telling people that he click the picture is a simple example of Plagiarism.
Plagiarism is not only limited to text or writing but also text, image, video, audio, music, art and etc. So we have to be careful while using images from the internet or other sources.
On steemit, we all are earning real money, So we all should be real. Here if you use others’ pictures using your name, or copying text, the real owner is not getting the benefit. Using other's work you are earing, is not justifiable on steem.
You can cite the source of the image and text. It helps people to know the real owner. Sometimes we must copy the same word as the real author says to justify our point of view. In steem, you can use markdown to cite the text.
You can use “ ” or > to mention the source. Yes. It's common to copy a few lines from the internet. If you provide a source link it's good to go. For copyright-free images, you can check
