Hello steemians I hope we are all great. I am posting my achievement 3 task which is on content etiquettes. As a new comer to steemit, I've realized how serious steemit is about content etiquette and how stern they are against plagiarism. By requiring its members to search and write about plagiarism has further reiterated to we, as members, the unprofessionalism of plagiarism and how we can best avoid it.

PLAGIARISM.

Plagiarism is the act of taking someone's work or ideas as yours without acknowledging the original creator of that content. It's a serious crime in a our day and age, and it's tantamount to theft.

Plagiarism comes in various types, some are intentional and others are due to mere mistakes. But in any case plagiarism is not tolerated and hence content creators should try as much as possible to avoid plagiarizing.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

1. cite the original content of your work and acknowledge the original creator of that content quoting and providing links to the original content. This not only safeguard you from plagiarism but also brings in professionalism to your work

2. Believe in your own creativity and commit yourself to producing your own original content. So in other to grow it is better to be genuine than to steal someone's ideas. Besides we are in the day and age where plagiarism can be easily detected by softwares and hence it is much safer to rely on your abilities and once in awhile quote from other sources.

3. Try good paraphrasing. Try to explain things in your own words. Mind you, paraphrasing is not cutting some words and fixing synonyms as some plagiarist do, but it's understanding the original content and using your own words to explain and summarize the content in your work.

4. try avoiding procrastinating as it mostly causes people to end up copying other people's work during the 11 hour. In other not to fall into the trap plagiarism avoid delaying the stuffs you need to create. Always make sure you diligently do your work earlier.

5. last but not list always use a software checker to make sure that there are no forms of plagiarism in your work.

Steemit is a platform that reward people based on their creativity and authenticity so hence in other to grow in this platform it's best you do not fall into plagiarism.
