Ghana My Beloved Country

Ghana is a beautiful country located in West Africa with Accra as it capital. It sits on latitude 7.9465⁰ and on longitude 1.0232⁰ and it's about 238535 km² in area. It's one of the few countries through which the Greenwich meridian passes. It's bordered to the East by Togo, to the West by Ivory coast, to the North by Burkina Faso and finally to the South by the Golf of guinea.

Ghana was colonize by the British and hence English is the official language of Ghana. But aside English, some languages are widely spoken and some of them are:

• Akan
• Hausa
• Dagbani
• Ewe.

The name "Ghana" was derived from the once great Ancient Ghana empire which was located in the area around Mali. Ghana was formally known as "Gold Coast" due to the rich gold deposit the British saw along the coast. But it was changed to "Ghana" after independence from the British.

Ghana has 16 regions with each having a capital town.

Ghanaians are very hospitable and free to tourists and foreigners. It's also well recognized by UN as one of the safest country in the world.
So I entreat all and sundry to try and make a visit to Ghana atleast once in their life time.
