Plagiarism! What is it mean?
Plagiarism means that using other's work or ideas as own content with or without permission. If you incorporate someone else's work into your work without their acknowledgment then it'll be considered Plagiarism. Plagiarism is not specific. It may be intentional, unintentional, or anything else.
➤ Types of Plagiarisms:
Direct Plagiarism:
Among other plagiarism, direct plagiarism is most harmful. If you intentionally copied text from other author's content and didn’t mentioned his/her name or content's address, it'll be called direct plagiarism. This is unethical and original author can take disciplinary action against the plagiarist.
Mosaic Plagiarism:
Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks of that source. And if he finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original words and content.
Self Plagiarism
It's one of the common plagiarism. Mostly held in academic institutions. If you submit previous submitted paper into a new project will be considered as self plagiarism.
Accidental Plagiarism:
Accidental plagiarism means that without attribution if a person ignores to cite the sources & misquotes the sources. Everybody should learn how to cite their sources and to be careful when doing research. Don't think that accidental plagiarism is unessential. It is as serious as any other plagiarism. It is also unethical & punishable.
AVOID PLAGIARISM
You could like others content, it's ok. But you have to conscious about mentioning original author's name and source address. If you do it, original author should be grateful to you and respect you. So, why plagiarism? Stop this. You can be relaxed if you avoid this nasty plagiarism. It is highly recommended in this steemit to avoid any types of plagiarism.
Now I can say this,
Yes, I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
