Good morning my fellow Steemians, I am happy to bring to you my achievement2 post on the Basic Security on Steemit. This is as a result of the verification of my achievement1 that had given me a bold step in moving forward to the next achievement task.

Based on this, I will be answering the questions of this achievement 2 task Bellow:

Question1: Have you retrieve all your keys on Steemit

Retrieving other keys on Steemit is done through the Master Password. The master password is the password you get when signing up.

Take the password and go to Steemit.com wallet, retrieve all the other keys

Question2: Do you know each of these keys functions and restrictions?

Here I will be discussing the various Keys on Steemit and how it works. This keys may include:

√ Master Password

√ Posting key

√ Private Active Key

√ Private Owners key and

√ Memo Key

√ Understanding the uses of Steemit wallet.

Each key above has its own uses and functions.

Master Password

Master Password as the name implies, is a key which is recommended when a user wants to change his account password.

It is also used in deriving all your other keys related to your account. What you should understand is, allow someone to have access to your master password is risky because the person might do away with all your assets.

Posting Key

This is the main key for login in to Steemit Blockchain. Some of the functions of Posting key are:

• It allows you to post on your account
• It allows you to make comments
• Edit and upvote a post
• Resteem and follow other users on the Blockchain or mute others account.

Active Key

Active key is very inportant to you as a Steemit Blockchain user. This is because the Active key is used for all monetary aspect in regards to transfers on the Blockchain. The active key is meant for mere sensitive task such as transferring funds, power Up/down transactions, voting for witnesses, updating profile details, converting Steem Dollars to Steem and placing a market order.

Owners Key

This key is used to recovered a compromised account. This means the key is very powerful and it can be used to change other keys of your account. This key is advised to be stored offline and only used when necessary.

Question 3: How do you plan to keep your Master password?

It is important you secure your keys and keep it safe where you can easily retrieve it if lost. This is because, if a user losses his/her Master password, the key can not be retrieve again.

√ Storing the password offline

√ It can be saved in a flash drive

√ It can be born into a CD plate

√ It can be printed out in a sheet of paper or

√ You can carefully write it down on a sheet of paper.

Question 4: Do you know how to transfer Steem token to another Steem user account?

Below are the steps in transferring Steem to another Steem user's account.

• Login into your Steemit account

• Click on wallet

• Click on the small black flyout

• Click on transfer

• Enter the recipient username (receiver's address)

• Enter the amount of Steem you wish to send

• Enter the Memo

• Click next

A new dialogue box will appear asking you to confirm transfer

• Click Ok

• Copy your Active key and put it on the space for password, then

• Sign in.

At this point, the transfer has been sent

Question 5: Do you know how to power up your Steem?

Before you could carry out this process, you must have Steem token on your Steem wallet. Bellow are the procedures to power up Steem:

• Click on wallet, on the Steem section,

• click on the little fly out

• Click on power up. I will be using 2 Steem to
  perform this task

• Enter the amount of Steem you wish to power up.

• click Power Up

• The next page is for confirmation

• Click Ok

• Enter to your active key

• Click Sign in

Bellow is the power up of 2 Steem.

With the step by step procedure, i believe all newbies can learn on how to carry out transactions like power up and sending Steem to other users on steemit Blockchain.
