Achievement 6 Task by @stan015 : Understanding Curation and Community
source: my design
INTRODUCTION
Hello Everyone! It is indeed a great achievement to have come this far of the Achievement Post Task. This is the last Achievement task and my focus is at Understanding Curation and Community.
how voting and curation work in steemit?
As a way of rewarding authors for their contents on steemit, the voting and curation comes to play. This is the Most Amazing part of steemit platform that aims at encouraging authors to do more and improve for better.
Just as we all (most, if not all) know, their are upvotes and downvotes on steemit.com, these two depends on the interest of curators(users reading your article/contents).
You get upvotes for creating quality contents or even for commenting quality comments, these upvotes gives you rewards in SBD, STEEM and/or SP. Your readers may downvote your article if it is not of their liking or if your post violates steem rules or their rules if it is in a community or otherwise.
Curators or higher SP will impact upvotes of magnitude to your content when they upvote your post. Whereas curators of lesser SP, usually newbies, will have zero or lesser impact when they upvotes your article, but then upvotes of curators/readers/raters of lesser Steem Power may still be beneficial.
What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?
According to the tutorial post by @cryptokannon, If a post is upvoted the moment of posting, 100% of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool.
At 1 minute, the curator receives 20%, and 80% remains in the rewards pool.
At 2 minutes, the curator receives 40%, and 60% remains in the rewards pool.
At 3 minutes, the curator receives 60%, and 40% remains in the rewards pool.
At 4 minutes, the curator receives 80%, and 20% remains in the rewards pool.
If a post is upvoted 5 minutes (or later) after posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the curator. - @cryptokannon
Who I will vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?
@steem.history has been a witness I will vote for. This is because of his wonderful tutorials and encouragement especially to the newcomers. I encountered @steem.history first on my first post here and I loved the warm welcome. I have also read some of his articles that even aided me to complete one of the achievement tasks. There are other wonderful witnesses here on steemit to vote for as a user can vote up to 30 witnesses.
Which community will I join in Steemit, and why?
Steemit is a wonderful platform with a lot of wonderful communities. As a newcomer, I picked interest in some of the communities that had my interest, leaving the Newcomers' Community and Steemit Nursary as potential communities, I found interest in the following communities:
- Campus Connect - the works of @campusconnectng, @whitestallion and others makes this community the best for students and many others.
- freewriters - @freewritehouse and @mariannewest are super in this community... more growth will lift many higher. I love to write here.
- Steem Infinity Zone - good jobs by @cryptokraze, @vvarishayy and others
You can read my article, Better Life At Steemit to see the paths I have followed so far as a newcomer that have achieved a lot, there you can also find the communities I am in and my other views.
CONCLUSION
It is a thing of joy that I have reached this last part of the Achievement Task Program. Many thanks to @cryptokannon and all the greeters that had worked tirelessly to make sure the task posts of newcomers gets curated. Many thanks to my country representatives, @whitestallion and @bright-obias and others for their good works here.
My Achievement 5.3 missed curation, I shall be grateful if it gets a catch up vote.
