Achievement 2: Basic Security on Steem

Hi guys, I'm here to talk about the basic security on steemit.
It's obvious that every good platform has means of being safe and secure for it's users so Steemit wouldn't be an exception.
We have various security keys here on steemit so let me quickly take you on what they are and their uses.

KEYS ON STEEMIT

PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD:

Just as the name implys, this key is used to generate everyother keys on steemit. For security reasons, this key should highly secured advisibly to be saved offline.

• How I plan to keep my master password

Due to the high importance of the master password, side being saved as a document online, I plan on having a copy of it saved offline.

POSTING KEY:

It's the key that allows users access to various contents in steemit platform such as logging in, voting, commenting, resteeming, following and unfollowing, editing, posting etc. It is limited in the sense that the more you use it, the more likely you are to get it compromised. So we can say that the posting key is a key that creates orderliness on the platform because without it, some users will easily be over doing things.

ACTIVE KEY:

Active key on steemit is used for task that are not often performed like the ones regulated by the posting key. It's is the key used for transaction on steemit platform, convertion of steem dollars and editing profiles.

OWNER'S KEY:

The fact that their is possibility of an account being compromised, there should be a way for the user to recover a compromised account that's where the owner's key comes into play. It is used mostly for account recovery.

MEMO KEY:

A memo key is used for encryption and decryption of memos during funds transfer on steemit.

WALLET AND TRANSFERS

Now let's talk about steem wallet and how to transfer funds within and outside steemit platform.

Steem wallet gives you maximum control and security over your assets. Below is a picture of what it looks like.

Transfer

To transfer steem within steem platform, the username of the sender will be on the space (From).
The steem address of the receiver will be on the space (To) and then the amount oof steem to be transferred in the space (amount) just as shown in the picture above.

Transferring steem outside steem platform:

To transfer steem outside steem platform, username of the sender in the space (From), this time around you don't put the steem address of the of the receiver in the space (To) instead you put their username and on the space (Memo), that's where you put the steem address of the receiver's binance or any other wallet address.

HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM

Login into your steem wallet and click on Steem and several options will pop up then click on power up. It's just as simple as that.
