Steemit has standards of acceptable and unacceptable post content and behaviour

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism ranks as the number one in the list of Steemit's unacceptable content.
Plagiarism is said to have been committed when a person takes credit for another man's work intentionally or due to the absences of proper citations or quotations. It could also happen when a person takes double credit for a single work. Work in this context cover, literary works, painting, sculpture, pictures or any product of the mind that can be classified as intellectual property.

Types of plagiarism

  • Paraphrasing Plagiarism
Here the text is copied from its original author but some words and sentences are being rearranged

  • Complete Plagiarism
This is when the whole material is pirated by another person and often makes profit from the material

  • Accidental plagiarism
This happens when a person makes a wrong reference, or is unavailable to reference properly

  • Self-plagiarism
This is when a material is published more than once.

How To Avoid Plagiarism
it's easy to Avoid plagiarism, just make sure you correctly refer to the source you are lifting from. An example is the definition of Etiquette at the beginning of this post. It was taken from Wikipedia and the source is refered below. The source here is a link that points to the place where the material was lifted.
Use quotation marks correctly. For example, this declaration are not my words so I will put it in quotation Marks and the source will be as close to it as possible.

Declaration

" I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them "
