Hello fellow steemians, I bring unto you all greetings and well wishes. And I strongly believe that you are all doing great. I am very happy as I proceed to my achievement3 task in the newcomers community. But before that I would like to sincerely express my profound gratitude to @wilmer1988 and @sarkodieeric1 for verifying my achievement 1 and achievement 2 respectively. Achievement 3 seeks to enlighten newcomers on steemit on the etiquettes of the content written and plagiarism to be a little more precise.

Plagiarism as defined as by the Britain English dictionary is the act of copying another person’s ideas, text or other creative work and presenting it as one’s own especially without permission. Plagiarism in my own words refers to mindless lifting of an author’s work without permission and using it as one’s own. There are basically four types of plagiarism; direct plagiarism, self-plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism and accidental plagiarism. I would like us to go through these types of plagiarism listed above and know what makes them different.
Direct plagiarism; this refers to the word-for-word lifting of another authors work be it texts or an idea without attribution to the person and without quotation marks. If this is deliberately done, then it can be said to be unethical.
Self-plagiarism; this type of plagiarism is common among students.it is when a person say a student submits his own previous work or mixes parts of the previous work without permission from all professors to do so. submitting the same piece of work in different classes without permission can also be considered as self-plagiarism.
Accidental plagiarism; this occurs when a person neglects to cite(citation) their sources, or when a person misquotes their sources, better yet unintentionally paraphrases a sources by the use of similar words or structure without attribution to the source
Mosaic plagiarism; this occurs when a person borrows phrases from a source without attribution to the source and without the use of quotation marks or when a person uses synonyms for the source whilst maintaining the same meaning and structure.
Citation
This is the act of bringing to the awareness of your audience or readers that certain ideas in the content are not completely your own but someone else’s ideas. The three common types of citation are the modern language association, Chicago style and the American psychological association.
in steemit, it is always important that steemians do well to add the sources of their work to prevent any form of plagiarism and make work void of copyright abuses. For instance, when one uploads a picture that one has not captured or screenshot in steemit, one is obliged to add the source of the picture;
usually, a formula is used with the link to source of the to add it's source just underneath. I personally urge all steemians to always check for plagiarism after each and every write up before posting it.Steemians can check for plagiarism before posting them.

The picture above is a site where one can check for plagiarism before posting with it's link .
I would like thank @cryptokannon for ensuring that plagiarism is checked properly because what makes a steemian is the resilience to writing and reading and also @beniba for guiding me through this task.
Thank you

Hello @simba-sammy I hope you are well, after reviewing your achievement 3 i must inform you that this does not meet the requirements established for validation according to the Newcomers' Community.

Do not forget at the end of the post to put the sentence at the end:

"I have read and understood the steemit etiquette on steemit community and also will do my very best to embrace them."

“You must use one of the citation examples described in the explanation of achievement 3, For this you must make a post of no less than 200 words of your authorship about what plagiarism is and additionally include the aforementioned examples (they will not be counted within 200 words)”.

“All the content used that is not 100% of your authorship must be cited according to what is described in the protocol of achievement 3”.

Use the citations to identify the content that is not of your authorship, remember that the other part of the post must be of your authorship and not less than 200 words.

Make the corrections and I will come back to verify your achievement

Greetings
