in Newcomers' Community2 years ago

Assalamu alaikum everyone. This is @sharmintuli and this is my submission post of the Task for Achievement 3 : Content Etiquette. With the expertise I've gained from doing other achievements (1 & 2) successfully. I'm hoping to do
the same with this one. I'll be discuss plagiarism, its various forms, and the etiquette involved.

What is Plagiarism?

Using another person's words or ideas without that person's consent and passing them off as your own is known as plagiarism. That is, using another person's words or ideas without the author's consent in articles, speeches, documentaries, or other works. They are not remembered or given praise. The use of plagiarism may be accidental or intentional. The owner is entitled to take legal action if it is done willfully. A greater understanding of the notion of plagiarism can help prevent it.

An original is anything that the creator themselves made. We must consider the original's owner while quoting from it. He or she needs to be reminded of that moment. We have improved our work's honesty by doing this. When proper content etiquette is maintained, plagiarism can be avoided.

Types of Plagiarism:
Global plagiarism refers to presenting an entire piece that was written by someone else as your own.
Copying someone else's words verbatim is known as plagiarism.
Plagiarism that is paraphrased involves rephrasing someone else's ideas and presenting them as your own.
Patchwork plagiarism refers to using passages from several different citations to construct your own content.
Self-plagiarism is when you reuse your own prior work.

Etiquette for content:

Content etiquette refers to the moral principles a writer should follow while quoting ideas from another source. Here are four examples of such ethics.
In our writing, the author's name must be cited in the same manner as he did.
On the website or blog where we are citing, we must provide a link to that source.
Prior to making an extract, the original author should be notified.
We shouldn't claim ownership of work that someone else has already created.

For illustration, we could-
To give tokens for free or in exchange for completing a job, cryptocurrency uses an airdrop.
A way of releasing cryptocurrency to the general public through the possession of specific other tokens or wallets on a specific blockchain is known as an airdrop. Typically, this is done for marketing purposes to encourage the ownership of other coins or persuade them to join the blockchain network Source.
This example demonstrates the usage of a quotation to indicate that the words are taken verbatim from another source. Additionally, the link allows us to see the source, which is the original.
