Steemit is a place where users are encouraged to produce and share quality post of their own, that is creating posts with original content. But now a days plagiarism is increasing day by day. For some time I have been trying to find out about it from different places. Below I discuss what I came to understand after the Steemite Newcomer`s Community Etiquette Post.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism means you have copy others content. You have taken others thoughts opinions and ideas. Plagiarism is also defined as that your article has same meanings and ideas which are already exists in the search engines in millions of articles.

Types of Plagiarism

There are some types of plagiarism which i want to discuss wih all my steemit fellows.
→Direct Plagiarism
→Self Plagiarism
→Mosaic Plagiarism
→Accidental Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is the word-for-word transcription of a section of other's work without their permission and without giving any source or quotation marks.

Self Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism occurs when a student submits his own previous work. If he mixes parts of his previous works, without the permission of all his professors.

Mosaic Plagiarism

Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks of that source. And if he finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original words and content.

Accidental Plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism occurs when a person neglects to cite their sources, or misquotes their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source by using similar words, groups of words, and/or sentence structure without permission of the owner.

How to avoid Plagiarism

Using someone else’s words or ideas without permission is Plagiarism. If anyone wants to avoid plagiarism, he/she have to correctly incorporate the sources into his/her content.

4 steps to avoid plagiarism

I. Keep the track of that sources which you consult in your research.
II. Paraphrase from your sources & add your own ideas.
III. Credit the original creator with proper citation & reference list.
IV. Before submission, must use a plagiarism checker.

We should use our brain properly and avoid plagiarism forever. Everyone should careful about plagiarism. Thank you.

Yes, I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them. Source
