Today I am here with my third achievement i.e content etiquette. I learned a lot doing this task and I hope you will find it helpful.
This achievement aims to develop a community that creates the content of their own and do not copy someone else work.
I will talk about Plagiarism is its types and how to avoid it.

We often use quotes, images ideas or phrases of others to supplement our work, make our writing or speech beautiful. But have you ever thought using someone work without giving credit to them is not good and amounts to plagiarism?
Plagiarism is not only bad but crime as well. If an author writes a book, the director writes the script of a movie or a song others cannot copy the work of the creator and pass it as their own. Whenever you use excerpts from any book, image or any other work of someone else you must take permission and duly cite the source of the work.
On steemit plagiarism is highly deplored and everyone who resorts to plagiarism is blacklisted. I being a newcomer used some work in my post and forgot to indicate the source, my post was not rated and I was immediately warned by the greeter. It helped me a lot. In this post, I made research and used my brain to write about plagiarism. In this way, I can say steemit taught me a lot and I hope to keep learning from it.
How to indicate a source?
For example, I have used the header image in this post which is not my creation. I have downloaded the image from Google and I have given the source of the image. If you click on blue 'Source' which is beneath the image, you will land on the website where I have got this picture from.
There are many types of plagiarism
Sometimes one copies or steals all work, sometimes small changes are done to someone else's work like changing words, sometimes it happens accidentally and sometimes own work is reproduced. We must avoid all kinds of plagiarism.

Ways to avoid plagiarism

To avoid plagiarism one can use his/her brain to create awn content, and whenever a person uses any other content credit must be given to the creator of that content by giving his reference or mentioning its source, as plagiarism is bad and amounts to dishonesty besides being a crime. It also loses the creativity/reasoning power of the plagiarist.
