ACHIEVEMENT 2: @senanuhadjah Task: Basic Security on Steem

Hii Steemians, I am happy to do my presentation on the Basic Security on Steem

I have been able to retrieve all my steem keys in my steemit.com wallet after signing up.
On Steemit there are a number of private keys namely; Active key, Owner key, Posting key, Memo key and Master Password. These keys each have their specific functions which I'll put out shortly.

Private Active Key
Used for monetary and wallet related actions, such as transferring tokens or powering STEEM up and down.

Private Owner Key
This key is used to reset all your other keys. It is recommended to keep it offline at all times. If your account is compromised, this keycan be used to recover it within 30 days at the steemit website.

Private Posting Key
Used to log in to apps such as Steemit.com and perform social actions such as posting, commenting, and
voting.

Private Memo Key
Used to decrypt private transfer memos.

Master Password
The seed password used to generate this document. This key is not to be shared

To keeps my keys safe I have saved them on a pen drive and I also have it printed out as a hard copy and safely hidden.
Just like the other keys The Master Password has also been saved on a pendrive , printed out as a hard copy and safely hidden

I have also learnt how to power up my steem after reading @kiwiscanfly's article on Understanding Your Steem wallet.

Steps to Power Up your steem

1. Log into your steem wallet with your active key.
   

2. Click on the down arrow found beside your steem tokens.
   

3. From the pop up menu that appears click on "power up".
   

4. Enter the amount of steem you want to power up in the space provided
   

5. Click on "power up" .

Another thing I've learnt is how to transfer my steem token to another steem user account. The steps are below;

1. Log into your wallet with your active key.

1. Click on the down arrow next to your steem tokens.
   

2. From the menu that appears select "transfer".
   

3. Enter the recipient's username and amount. You can also add a message in the memo bar if you so wish.
   

4. Click on " next" and confirm the details of the recipient.
   

5. Click on "OK" to transfer.

Also ,when referring to a fellow steemit user the "@" symbol must come before the person's username. For example @abenad . When encrypting a memo the "#" symbol should be brought before it.
