I'm very grateful to our mentor @cryptokannon for this wonderful lecture on the importance of securing of our keys, their roles and importance.
This post based on the tasks given:
- How do you retrieve all the passwords for steemit.
- Do you know each of these keys functions and restrictions?
- how do you plan to save the keys
- How to transfer steem
- How to power up steem
HOW DO YOU RETRIEVE ALL THE PASSWORDS FOR STEEMIT.
It was very simple. It comes in the form of PDF. So while creating my account on #steemit, I was promoted to download it. Which I did happily. It was successful.
DO YOU KNOW EACH OF THESE KEYS Functions And Restrictions?
There are several types of these keys. I will be listing them, explain their functions and mention if any restrictions.
MASTER KEY
This is the most wonderful #password on steemit because it's roles are versatile and unique. It's very prominent because it is used to generate all other passwords and can be used in place of some.
POSTING KEY
This is a great password. As the name implies, it is a wonderful key that offer the opportunity to the user to publish a Post on steemit. This actions includes posting, edit, comment, following, resteem, upvote and even downvoting a post. It's very vital!
OWNER KEY
As the name implies, it gives authorization to the owner of the account. It is very unique and specially designed.
ACTIVE KEY
This is a special keys for sensitive actions. It is used only on request like to follow curation trails etc.
MEMO KEYS
This is a unique key but not regularly used. It is seriously required for sending the tokens.
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO SAVE THE PASSWORDS.
Those ways of securing things like writing it on paper and remaining it is not safe any longer. According to the lecture, once one remember the keys, it's not safe again.
However, I'm planning on saving the keys pdf on my personal online box like Google drive where it's safe digitally.
HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM
To transfer this beloved token is very important. It can be done within the users on this platform or other platforms. I will explain this action in steps.
STEP ONE
Log into my wallet.
STEP TWO
Click on TRANSFER and wait for the next pages
STEP THREE
Indicating the person's username as in this case @samuel20 as shown above. Other details includes the amount and the memo keys if it is requested especially other platforms.
STEP four
Confirmation of the details and clicking Ok to initiate the process.
HOW TO POWER UP STEEM
This is a great saving actions to increase my steem power on my wallet. This is the steps to achieve it.
STEP ONE
Log into the wallet
STEP TWO
Click onPOWER UP to initiate the process.
STEP THREE
Indicate the amount and click on Next
STEP four
Confirmation and clicking on Ok. It will be successful.
Conclusion
Securing the keys and using it appropriately is very important on steemit. It's gives authorization and safeguard the wallets too. To transfer and power up #STEEM is a wonderful actions to be encouraged.
