regards to all steemians, I'm @rossella69 again completing the task of achievement 3 about content etiquette, hopefully this task will be completed properly and correctly.

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is the act of quoting or borrowing from the work of others without adequately disclosing the source in the academic realm, and it is also called intellectual theft. A typical reason for plagiarism is that the writing is done in a dissertation or journal paper without the researcher really recognizing the serious problem of plagiarism. This shows that although researchers strive for originality, logic, and methodology in the process of writing academic papers, they tend to write without examining whether there are problems in terms of research ethics.

Types of Plagiarism

In general, plagiarism occurs when a researcher does not explicitly disclose the use of another's work, even if he or she does not indicate the source. The types of representative plagiarism include text plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, and idea distortion.

Text plagiarism

Text plagiarism is the act of copying part of a text written by another person without the knowledge of the author. This is a typical act of plagiarism, and at the request of the copyright holder, not only criminal liability but also civil liability is unavoidable.

Mosaic plagiarism.

It refers to combining parts of text written by others, adding or inserting words, or replacing words with synonyms, without acknowledging the original author and source. This is a type of plagiarism that is difficult to detect without very specialized knowledge.

Idea distortion

Distortion ideas refers to the act of distorting facts without acknowledging that they are the words and thoughts of another person. In other words, this is a case where the expression of the original text should be preserved as when writing down other people's words and thoughts, but not doing so.

How to avoid plagiarism.

To avoid plagiarism we must practice ethical writing in academic activities, the source must be identified accurately. Accurately distinguishing what belongs to others that is not yours in your own work, and disclosing the source when using someone else's unique ideas or expressions, is an appropriate method of citation. An appropriate quote is to acknowledge and respect the work of others in theirs. Therefore, when writing such scholarly works, it is necessary to show acknowledgment and appreciation of the work of others and avoid the risk of plagiarism by using various forms of direct quotations, indirect quotations, summaries, etc. This disengagement from plagiarism is important because it can shape the desired research ethics and culture.

How to put sources.
