ACHIEVEMENT POST 1 - INTRODUCING MYSELF
My name is Samuila G. Rimamtawey. I graduated from the university in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Economics from Godfrey Okoye University Enugu. While in school I took part in various student union activities geared towards enhancing students welfare and improving student - lecturer relationship. Had my primary eduction at Command Children’s school and then proceeded to Command Secondary school where I obtained my Senior Secondary Certificate. I hail from a small village called Fikyu in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba state. I am the eldest in a family of eight including my parents. I have 4 brothers and a very loving sister who always acts like she’s my older twin…lol. There’s also my loving cousin whom we all refer to as our second mum because she’s always been there to look after us just like a mum would. I have never seen her fight or quarrel with anyone. She’s such a sweet and amazing soul. Just like every large family, my siblings and I quarrel and fight but we always stand together come what may. I speak and understand two of the three major Nigerian languages due to the fact that dad’s job made us travel round the country a lot.
Growing up in a military barracks and always being surrounded by soldiers really had a great effect on my choice of career to be honest. This, combined with what I saw on war movies really had a great effect on my decision to one day become an officer in the army. In my country, the military is a very prestigious institution and is revered by every one. I admire the gallantry exhibited my soldiers and tales of victory in war sparks up something inside me. Back then, as kids we would always play war games around the blocks in the barracks. Aside from the the story of valor, I also love the way men and women appear and the way they carry themselves too. However, joining the army, in my country in my country is quite difficult. At the moment, I work with my dad at his farm where we engage in cultivation of various cash crops. I must say working at a farm is quite fun even though it can be quite a cumbersome task.
I can boldly say that I’ve been a sports lover right from my childhood when we used to race in our neighborhood. We even created our own special game called baram where we would divide ourselves in to teams of a minimum of two players on both sides. With clubs made out of sticks plucked from mango and gmelina trees nearby, we would try to strike the baram (a round object carved out of used bathroom slippers) out of our opponents reach. When it stops spinning, we gained a point against our opponents. If you’re from Nigeria and grew up in the barracks, you’d probably have knowledge of the game. I enjoy watching football a lot especially the English Premier League. I’m a fan of Chelsea Football Club. On Saturdays I and my friends play at a nearby field in our estate. I enjoy hunting and fishing with my dad and that always makes being at the farm fun. I love to read a lot of blogs and articles on various websites. I believe it not only enriches my knowledge but also gives me peace.
Sometime last year, a friend of mine told me about Bitcoin and also a little about other cryptocurrencies but I didn’t really pay much attention to it at first. Going further into the year 2021, I started doing on and off reading about the subject. That’s as much as I can say I know about crypto. Using the aid of this platform and it’s various resources, I’m hoping to improve my knowledge on cryptocurrency especially with the buzz surrounding the introduction of Web 3.0. I feel really excited about the journey already.
While gisting with a friend and neighbor during the last Christmas holidays, he told me about a platform where I could blog and also learn about cryptocurrency. @ezego also explained to me how he took classes on steemit crypto academy. I look forward to meeting a lot of you on steemit and share in your wealth of knowledge.
