Good afternoon fellow steemians. I must say that I am glad I made the decision to be a part of this amazing community. After going through basic security on steemit and completing my achievements, I will summarize what I have learned so far.
Security is critical to protecting valuable data and assets from damage, theft or loss. This ensures privacy and also ensures that only authorized owners or staff can give consent. In fact, ensuring the security of user data in the steemit community is equivalent.

DIFFERENT KEYS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS

There are five basic keys in steemit that help the security, functionality and authentication of the user account in the steemit blockchain system. This key is used for data authentication, encryption, and decryption, not password-based authentication when using a password. The key can be public or private, with the public key associated with the username and used to verify messages, while the private key is used to authorize transactions within a person's account. These keys are shown below

POSTING KEY

This key allows users to log into their steemit account and participate in various daily activities, such as posting content, commenting, voting, silencing and following others.

OWNER KEY

As the name implies, if an account is compromised, this key is required to prove and recover ownership, and also to help reset all other locks within 30 days. Therefore, it is only used when the need increases and offline backup is recommended.

ACTIVE KEY

These keys are used for wallet-related activities and should therefore be treated with care. Monetary activities such as transferring funds, pushing STEEM up and down, placing market orders, and even converting Steem dollars

MEMO KEY

This key is used during fund transactions between accounts. It is used to encrypt and decrypt notes during the transfer of funds.

MASTER PASSWORD

If someone loses the owner's key, this master password can be used as it is obtained at the end of account creation in steemit and the initial password is used to generate a document containing all other keys. You may not share this key.

HOW I’M KEEPING THE KEYS SAVED..?

I immediately created my account and received the document containing the key, immediately uploaded it to my Google drive as a backup to be able to access it anywhere and anytime without any problem. I also keep it well on my phone and laptop, where I can access it myself. It is important to keep it in a place where it cannot be seen by third parties.
