Achievement 2 @rashe task : Basic security on steem.20/05/2021

Good morning to you all my fellow steemians. Hope you all had an amazing night as i did with a comfirmation of this introductory post. After a successful confirmation of this post , i have been issued another task to accomplish and this time it is titled "Basic security on steem".

I am more than excited to be a steemian and i will like to complete and achieve all the said tasks in the community not forgetting the major fact of abiding to all the rules and regulations of this community and also protect my keys in the steemit blockchain. I will be answering some questions in order to complete my task.

• Posting Key

• Active Key

• Memo Key

• Owner/ power-up key

No.1 Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

YES, I have been able to retrieve all my keys and i have successfully saved them in a pdf file on my laptop and also saved a copy on my USB.

Do you know of each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes, i know the various keys and how they function with their corresponding risks. I have already listed the keys that are available above but now ill take them one after the other and explain how they each function.

Posting Key.

Most users should be logging into Steemit every day with the posting key. You are more likely to have your password or key compromised the more you use it so a limited posting key exists to restrict the damage that a compromised account key would cause. The posting key allows accounts to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts.

Active Key.

This key is used for a lot of important things such as transfering funds, power-ups and power- downs. It is used to convert Steem dollar, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar.

Memo Key.

This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds.

Owner Key.

The owner key is only meant for use when necessary. It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account, including the owner key. Ideally, it is meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a compromised account.

No.3 How do you plan to keep your master password?

Since I knew the importance of the master password to my account, so i first copied and saved into a pdf file and also made a copy and saved it on my USB. I also know that the master key is used to retrieve other keys hence i should be more discrete with its details or related information.

No.4 Do you know to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes I know how to transfer steem tokens from one account to the other.

ELABORATION.

To be able transfer tokens from one account to another, you first start by:

• clicking on your profile

-clicking on wallet to open it.

After you have opened wallet, Click on your steam number and select transfer.
The fill in the blanks with the necessary details to finish up transfer by entering username of the person you want to transfer token to and the amount and enter your memo key.

No.4 How do you increase your steem power by using power-ups?

STEPS.

-Log in to your account and go to the wallet, click on the steem drop-down menu and click power up.

-A new pop up window will appear with the title of "Convert to STEEM POWER", type the amount you want to transfer to increase your steem power(SP), and click powerup.

-Click 'OK' to confirm it.

-Copy the master password or owner key and paste it there, I recommend using the owner key for these kinds of transactions.

-The power will be increased check the wallet to see it reflected in your steem power(SP).
