Welcome to my achievement post#2 which is about Basic Steemit Security. Here I'm going to share my knowledge about the following things

• Functions and importance of different keys
• How I have kept my Steemit account secure
• How to transfer funds to another account
• How to power up my steem

The security of the Steemit account is very important because once stolen it's very difficult to recover it so it must be protected with the help of the following keys.
• Master key
• Posting key
• Active key
• Owner key
• Memo key

Master key:
As the name suggests the master key is the "master" of all keys. It is the most important key because all of the other keys can be accessed through this one key. It is the first key that's provided after the account has been made and it's very essential to keep this key safe.

Posting key:
This key is used for the posting purpose. It allows the account to login (instead of master key it's safe to use posting key for everyday use), comment, post, edit , vote and follow other accounts and pages. In simple words this key basically helps the account to perform all the functions performed on a daily basis.

Active key:
This key is used in the transfer / exchange of funds and it is very important to secure this key because if this key gets stolen, the funds can be stolen.

Owner key:
This key plays a central role because it helps in the recovery of the lost account and it can also make certain changes in the other keys (posting key , active key) whenever required.

Memo key:
This key is used for encryption and decryption of private messages/memos while transaction. It is not used very commonly.

HOW I HAVE KEPT MY STEEMIT ACCOUNT SECURE
In order to protect my Steemit account from theft I made sure to secure all the above mentioned keys that were provided to me especially the master key by saving them offline on my notes, personal diary and Gmail.

HOW TO TRANSFER FUNDS TO ANOTHER ACCOUNT:
By following the below mentioned simple steps

1. Log in to your account using the active key.
2. Click on the drop-down button beside the Steem and then select transfer.
3. Enter all the details including the receipt, the transferrable amount and then confirm it. TA-DA 🎊

HOW TO POWER UP MY STEEM
So far I've learned that steem is in a liquid form and can be powered up to build a steem power. For that purpose again open the wallet select the drop-down box next to steem and select power up. The more Steem power you have the more influence you have. Also there are steamed backed dollars (SBD) which can either be used to transfer funds to the other accounts or for the trading of Steem.
