INTRODUCTION

Good day every one, it has been a really big deal for me to carry out all my achievement task but God willing am moving graduation to the finish line. Today i am on achievement three and i pray it is voted and verified.
I am so excited to be on my achievement three after having my achievement 2 verified some months ago.

As I wrote in my achievement 1 post, I didn't just sign up on steemit to make cool money but to add value to my life and humanity. I must say so far

The beauty of value is in it originality in creation, this is because originality encourages critical thinking, in education anytime ones content is short of originality it is tagged PLAGIARISM.

Today my achievement 3 task is based on content etiquette, here I will be talking on plagiarism.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

According to Wikipedia the free encyclopedia, Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideals, or expressions as one's own original work.

I will say plagiarism is the coping and presentation of another man's intellectual property as your own without a note of referral. There are more than one thousand and one definitions of plagiarism out there however the percentage of people practicing what they have written is little.

I will be more excited if we are are practitioners of our plagiarism essays.
Generally, plagiarism is not in itself a crime, but like counterfeiting fraud can be punished in a court for prejudice caused by copy right infringement, violation of moral right.

Plagiarism and copyright infringement overlap to a considerable extent, but they are not equivalent concepts, and many types of Plagiarism do not constitute copyright infringement, which is defined defined by copyright law and may be adjudicated by courts.

In a simple term Plagiarism might be looked upon as the antonym of " academic honesty " and when this is not controlled by both individuals and the government it tends to bring about general dishonesty.

PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT
Steemit as a platform where literary content are being shared on a daily basis does not support Plagiarism. Rather it encourages critical thinking, content building and development to add value to humanity. Hence on steemit Plagiarism is to:

  1. Copy someone else's literary content and presenting (posting) it as your one. When an steem member begins to do this instead making up his or her own original content, this individual is said to be engaging in Plagiarism. One of the reasons why people do this is because they don't believe in themselves and some because of lack of knowledge.

  2. Duplication of a work you find on the internet without proper or no reference. Every information we need is on the net but we must make sure to reference our source to encourage more original content.

  3. Duplicating images derived from various sources on d net without approval and without referencing.

When one does not engages in Plagiarism, it means one is read to learn, think, grow and develop on the steemit platform.

THE ILLS OF PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT

It is popular said that prevention is better than a cure. Hence this ills should make one run away from Plagiarism on steemit.
Below are the consequences of PLAGIARISM on STEEMIT.

  1. It will bring about a down voting of one's post. This means steem members and leaders will not be voting on a dishonest post. This is because what you vote for, you encourage.

  2. It will bring about distrust and one might loss his or her reputation. People will not look upto for original content.

  3. When u keep up in Plagiarism on steemit you could be banned from participating on various contest. And one being restricted means losing a lot of life changing opportunities.

Educational Plagiarism and consequences.
The Consequences of Plagiarism can be personal, professional, ethical, and legal. With Plagiarism detection software so readily available and in use, Plagiarist are being caught at an alarming rate.
Once accused of Plagiarism, a person will most likely always be regarded with suspicion. Ignorance is not an excuse. Plagiarist include academics, professionals, students, journalist, authors and others. Plagiarism does the following to a Plagiarist:

  1. It destroys professional reputation
  2. It destroys academic reputation
  3. it destroys students reputation
  4. It destroys legal reputation

Plagiarism at the long run has legal and monetary repercussions, however one can devote his time to hard work to avoid being punished. On steemit i will try my best to avoid Plagiarism.
